My  best pics (of Thai girls) were taken with a 2003 Sony W1 5 megapix and 3 x zoom. I would buy another one but now not available.

 

I always find it quite amusing to hear people raving about megapixels like that is THE indication for

quality , 5 megapixel will do fine up to 8/10 inch in print (NO , 40 mill pix is not gonna give you a

better print , it's giving you the possibility to make a bigger print) .

 

I mainly use my 5D on 10M pixel as i hardly ever print and don't need the enormous (raw) files .

Sexy Couple, good your happy with the  G9 . not me nice as the fit n finish seems to be ,  got shot of my canon G9 , as is well known it sucked dust in effected both the sensor and the little viewfinder dust n one hair from my pet free home ,, the repair cost would have been more than its worth , other reasons to move on ISO after 100 iso ,is not very good, and low light shots suck compared to my Fuji's , and these days wider angle shots not really possible with its standard lens not very wide angle lens  , G11 G12 better but still the sucks dust in through the lens Issue is still being reported . .

This photo was taken with my Sony W1 5megapix (4.2) but cropped from an almost full length shot of the girl. So seems good enough for taking pics of Thai gogo girls..

Cameras don't take pictures, photographers do. Cameras are just another artist's tool.

Maybe because it's entirely an artist's eye, patience and skill that makes an image and not his tools. Even Ansel said "The single most important component

of a camera is the twelve inches behind it."

 

If you go to a wedding expo,do the photographers have there equipment on display,or good quality images in there portfolio on display.

Buy someone some brand new top quality golf clubs,does that make them a good golfer ? 

 

So seems good enough for taking pics of Thai gogo girls..  There is cameras that take good and bad photos of Thai gogo girls ?

 

In general, quality refers to compression while quantity refers to megapixels. The more megapixels you have, the more you can crop in on an image.

The amount of detail stored in an image depends on two factors. The first is the number of mega pixels in the image. The more mega pixels, the more detail your photo has. That’s why newer model cameras boast larger mega pixel numbers – these cameras capture a more detailed photo.

 

As in the photo above by Billyboy294,and yes she is very nice,cropping the image has made it loose detail.

The hair is not sharp

It was shot in Jpeg,not good for skin tones

Built in camera flash,has the red eye affect

It looks more like a mobile phone image

Background is grey one side,off white the other side

It lacks overall detail and needed to be sharpened if cropping in that much

I can remember we had a bit of a discussion before about photography and we didn't

agree on some points . I can agree on almost everything in your post this time 555

(only thing is , yes raw will give you more detail but doesn't make any sense when

posting heavily compressed 200kb Jpegs on a forum) .

500 plus photos in my trip report,is that enough ?

Took a G15 last year and just wasn't happy with the shots I got so I'm hoping the fast focusing and low noise from my new A6000 will help with the picture quality.

 

I actually have access to a 5D Mark III and D800 but the weight is just to much when I'm partying.  Wish me luck, 11 days and counting.

 

BTW Jerry, you have some really amazing photos in your threads.  I have no idea how you keep up with the drama.

not 500 plus snapshots from Beachroad , LK Metro and Mr Mc Donald ect ...   . 

 

As in the photo above by Billyboy294,and yes she is very nice,cropping the image has made it loose detail. 

The hair is not sharp . It is but the crop and Jpeg compression has messed up the detail . 

It was shot in Jpeg,not good for skin tones . Nothing to do with Jpeg as my Eos 5 delivers better skin tones in Jpeg as that it does in raw .

As Big G has gone out of his way to make sarcastic (and dishonest ) comments on some of my photos on another topic I searched thro his "500 plus photos" of street shots and eventually came across this photo of a girl in black..

 

I think i would prefer my photos taken with my old 5 megapix compact than this one from a professional.

 

I am not comparing the looks of the two girls but the black outfit she is wearing has got no texture so cannot see if it is a Tshirt and shorts, a dress or what.

 

 

 

The 'experts' tell me by pointing the flash of my compact directly at the girl, any white the girl is wearing is over-exposed. Well perhaps some of it is but you can see the texture and shape of the white top.

 

One of them told me to hold a piece of white cloth in front of the flash on my compact (and likely get underexposed photos) or dont take photos of girls if they are wearing anything white.

555 best comeback ever.That girl jumped up from a seat in Soi 6,and i took a quick photo and walked away,next time i will make sure they are wearing outfits with more texture it !

I've been in photography (selling camera and photography) for 25 years , had 15 people working for me and

i can a sure you i made 'a bit' more than 18 or 45$ an hour (45$ is still way to low for a decent photographer ...) . 

In Asia for the last 5 years doing whatever i like . How you think i can afford the life i live now ... ? 

 

The pics i put up here are not pro studio pics but just nice pics of Thai/Cambodian girls . Yes there will sometimes

be a shadow on the wall (so what) the circumstances in my bedroom are not ideal and i often use a Canon S110

or G16 for these pics .  

You really think you get spontaneous pics of these girls when the room is full of studio flashes and you pulling out

a big DSLR ? 

 

I know very well what i'm capable off and think i've proven already i'm able of making decent pics . While all we

have seen of your pics is 500 plus snap shots of Pattaya ... Mr Mc Donalds FFS ... 555 .

Just wondering,your so good at editing,why do you use skin programs to edit the models skin ?

There is no pores on the skin,and it 'grabs' the whole image,sheets,pillows,walls etc,better to do it by hand and no shortcuts with bad results ?

Well, I am a neutral party with some small skill in photography and hence I will comment and hope I won't be drawn into the war (which seems silly to me).

 

In my opinion, Billyboy294 has the best photos in the thread. Notice, I didn't say the most technically proficient.

 

This illustrates, to me, many things. First, to me, he is the best photographer in the thread. Why? Because of what people have said many times and I concur with--the equipment is secondary. A good photographer with a pinhole camera will beat a mediocre photographer with the latest gear almost every time (and the other time will be sheer luck--kind of like beating Tiger Woods in a round of golf for a novice). Why? First, and most important, because they know *what* to shoot; second, and a bit less important, they have enough knowledge of their equipment to translate what they have in their mind into some semblance (rarely exact) of their vision. Would the good photographer's pictures be better with a better camera? Then answer is probably, but not always.

 

Are people on this thread emphasizing equipment too much? Most definitely! I would say 90% of the posters on this thread (just a guess, and sorry, but I really have this opinion) would make no better photos with a professional SLR than they would with a point and shoot. A couple of posts (no I won't point to specific posts) I have seen where the poster has effervesced about their camera, I have thought 'Jebeezus, I could shoot that with my crappy cell phone easy.' I agree with the guy who was supporting this position (Big G?) emphatically, though his lack of any tact surely made it impossible for most people to hear his point.

Billyboy294 has lots of good images of girls yes,he has done very well for himself.

 

In my position what i do,i can not post up naked images of Thai girls,to much to loose.And to be honest,i have never taken any nude images of Thai girls.You do not have to take photos of Thai girls to prove you can produce good images.Lighting,in focus etc.

 

And please explain my lack of any tact ?

Just my two cents ...

 

I have seen Big G pics ( not the one on the forum ) of the events where he has been official photographer ... They are superb and very professional .. But they are not of Thai BGs rather of mega event ... So with no disrespect to other posters ( jerry , Billyboy ) I can honestly say that Big G is a pro photographer .
