Love my wee Lumix TZ9 point and shoot. 12mp, 12x optical 16x elctronic zoom. Good intelligent auto, excellent macro, reasonable low light performance, 1080p vid and enough manual control options to get reasonably creative. At a 149 gbp it wont break my heart if something goes wrong with it on holiday. Had it for about 18 months now and take it everywhere with me

600d, 17-50 tamron, 50 f 1.4 for lowlight and a 70-200 f 4.0 which I like the best. I used to have a 430 ex flash but maybe somebody nicked it on my latest trip or I forgot it :-(

 

Mostly I shoot in the room, but from time to time I'll walk around and shoot what comes to mind. A lot of girls actually ask to have their picture taken and some girls want good pictures for their facebook.

Use the trusty iPhones cam. Got started with photography with a cheap Sony DSLR but wouldn't carry it to Thailand.

Just bought a Sony DSC X100 - seems to take decent pics, even at night with no flash.

I only use intelligent auto (default) as I have yet to read the manual PDF.

 

My Macbook can't handle RAW - anybody overcome this problem cheaply (OSX 10.6.8)?

I have 10.6.8 on mine, and it has no problems with Raw. But you do need some programme that can read raw. I use Lightroom 4, and really like it. far more user friendly then Photoshop.
