I never stayed in a hotel for more than a few nights. Sometimes I'd change rooms mid swing. The staff at the LK Renaissance found that amusing.

I ended up at:

LK Renaissance - Nice hotel ... thought the fountain could've been bigger ... might've actually used it to swim.

LK Royal Suites - Again, a nice hotel

Tim Boutique - Great deal when you actually get a deal (<2000 baht) I really enjoyed my stays there. Include wifi in the price!

Caesar Palace - Never. Again. I had nicer accommodation in a Vancouver hotel that was situated above a night club and frequented by the city's heroin addicts. At least the broken stem of a crack pipe didn't fall out of the bedding at Caesars. I might've felt more at ease if I spoke some Russian.

Next time around I'm going to look for something that's high up and has an ocean-side view. I love waking up in the morning to a view. The tin roofs of beer bars and squirrel nested electrical cables got a bit old kinda quickly :GoldenSmile1:

I am currently staying in a deluxe seaview room on 6th floor of Baboona hotel on Beach Road betwen Soi 3 and 4. Although 2.200 baht a night this is a seriously good hotel, and the view from my spacious balcony is amazing!

Soi 10 Sawasdee Sea View. Nice location IMO, (close enough to soi 7 and 8 but far enough away-if you know what I mean) I like the superior rooms and I like the prices BUT never again - at least not until the fucking building over the road is finished, I like to get some sleep at some point on a trip.... :Chokdee:

HAVE SOME FUN....GET IT ALL OVER HER FACE!!

  • 2 months later...

I have stayed in villa's, hotels, cheap rooms, luxury rooms, rooms above bars etc etc. I guess it all amounts to budget and what one requires. Their are many fine choices of accommodation in Patts. After many years and many more trips I now require a room that has a good shower, quite, cable TV and a swimming pool, therefore I look for hotel accommodation that is BG friendly; and having stayed at many my favoutite at this moment is Royal Twins Palace hotel. Rooms are spacious, quite and every room has a view over Patts for around 1200B per night. I know they will discount for longer stays.

However after saying the above, I also enjoy villa's at Jomtien, which are alot quiter and usually around 5000-10000B per week depending upon the establishment. Though the only downside is travelling either Soi6 and Walking Street, but again it's all personal taste.

I search the properties via the internet and also find that the internet prices are quite comparable.

Hope this helps.

Fred

I can now report that the Tim Boutique hotel is indeed a very nice place to stay. I spent a week there in April at a rate of 2000 baht per night. Breakfast buffet for 2 was included in the price, and the food was very good. My only complaint was that their rooms are non-smoking, which I didn't know when I booked, and I was told I could smoke only on the balcony. When I checked out, however, they issued me some sort of VIP card and told me that they would have a smoking room for me next time. They even took my photo to keep on file with the card.

The location, off Second Road around Soi 14, was terrific. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping in the area, and both Devil's Den and Lolita's are a stone's throw away. Ass_Lick.gif

I try to visit for three weeks at a time and will change hotels twice during the stay. This is to both get to know an area better, but also to avoid any BG mistakes........I have admitted in other threads, I am weak when it comes to the three day rule.

Last time started in hotel on Beach Road, very nice but too European, fighting to put their towels out on the best deckchairs before breakfast........oh the memories of Spain in the 70/80's, then moved on to Jomtien, enjoyed that very much, but then also found very nice BG to go with it, and that makes a difference, then finally to LK Metro are, how can you go wrong there?

I like to come to Pattaya and live like a pimp. I like staying at 4-5 star hotels north of WS but south of Soi 6, like the Hard Rock or the Montien. Sure, I'm on a budget when I travel like most of you, but I don't get to vacation as often as I like and so when I do I like to make it a real experience.

That will all change when I eventually retire to Pattaya. I'll be just like everyone else looking for a decent 14K baht or so apt in one of the buildings that I like to refer to as the "Bachelor Arms".

I stay at guest house on Central Pattaya Rd, mainly because I walked in without accomodation plans after 14hrs on the bus and they gave me a room, big, clean and new but quite spartan. Not a problem though all I need is a clean bed and shower.

I always like to stay central.

Have stayed in the pig & whistle, Queen pattaya, Queen vic, galaxy suites, sunshine and little bit from the action 'the modern place'. With some of these places 'you only get what you pay for'.

The down side off a lot of these places is the noise but being able to walk a short distance to your loom is great even more so hand in hand with a honey.

Back in September and have no concrete plans where to stay.

Can't imagine many hotels for 500bahts. But hey-ho, you live and learn!

My Pattaya budget is perfectly adequate as long as I don't spend any of it

Right now I am staying at the Charming Innn, its on the corner of Beach Road and Soi 3. Its a nice place, rooms are 1000-1200 for a standard with ac, hot water, safe. Its clean, the staff is nice, the ac is quiet. The hotel has a nice open lobby area where u can sit and relax. Oh, and it has free WIFI. Quest friendly too.

I've stayed in several places, first was Sawadee Beach on Soi 10, very good size rooms, Tried also another Sawdee hotel near Soi Dianna, also stayed at Tim Boutique, great place but find that the price varies all the time. Most recently stayed at the Fraser Resort which was very nice, only downside was no outdoor pool even though they have a very nice roof terrace.

When in Pattaya I normally stay at the Marin Place on Soi Backoew, It's quite cheap(390 baht for a fan room or 500 for air), has a nice pool and is in a nice convenient location...well worth a look......
