England Australia Ashes 2019

No one knows how bad or good the Aussie score is until the Poms have a dig... Ball moving in the air and off the pitch are nightmare conditions for Aussie batsmen.  Perfect conditions to bowl, so like many I am wondering why no Starc.  He has to have done something that has pissed Langer off...

I think the OZ strategy is to strangle the England batting & I guess they think he is too loose, or he may have been knocking off the coach's missus:Busted:

Apparently no, never ceases to amaze me how a couple of guys can bat and the rest can’t . It’s like they’ve no idea how to play test cricket. Perhaps a sign of the times.

Not sure they know why .  Although with Siddle a threat and the highly rated James Pattison now fit  , they have plenty of options to go with with Starc , Hazlewood and Cummings  , and Australia only play 3 front line seamers plus Lyon .

England have plenty of seam bowling options too.

Its the average batting that is making this series exciting  .

Perhaps a sign of too much limited overs crap , and next year in England , they are piling in more !

City based 100 competition  ,  Dumb and dumber comes to mind .

I’m a big fan of 20/20 but in saying so there’s players who are suited fir that, and that only. I’d be more than happy to see test cricket players bat like test cricket players, but they seemingly don’t know how anymore

The problem is of course that lines become blurred to the point where the selectors don't really know who's suited to what until they keep failing ,  Jason Roy and Aaron Finch two prime examples and Morgan before them .

I'm sure Joe Root can bat at 3 for England but not ideal if he keeps coming out to bat two overs into the innings as happened again this morning .

2/17 now, 179 is starting to look like a good score. Warner looks like he enjoyed taking that last catch.

34/4 and 179 all out looks like 679.

calypso collapso in full effect.

You wouldn’t be buying day four and five tickets with these teams.

Yes, Australia have bowled well but England’s batting has been dismal. Root got a good one but the other 4 have given their wickets away.

Five down and Aus only slight favourites on Betfair, strange.

Some good bowling but terrible shot selection, have to agree with davidge.

Oh my days, six down, we’re doomed.

Warner’s catching has been great.

Some of the worst batting I think I've ever seen from England, and there have been plenty of shockers over the years :ThumbDown1:

No need for Aus to bat a second time, they have more than enough already :o

OZ need to restrict England to no more than 280 to have any hope as there will be no draw in this one.

They managed that quite well .

Wow what can you say. I only brought 1 litre of wine thinking I'd go to bed at tea. Hope we can bat as well as we bowled & I'll be happy drinking water

England  very capable of messing this one up  , time and again the bowlers do well only for the batters to throw it all away .

Archer superb , but Root must be careful with his work load .

This game is still very much open .

Apparently the fourth time since the start of 2018 we have been bowled out for less than a hundred. I think we batted for a session and about half an hour.

I wonder what excuses Root and co will have for this latest shambles? This is worse than the 90s for me from England.

Very well played Australia, this is a bowling attack giving no freebies away.

Happens so often in cricket, the bowling is top notch but then the batting lets them down massively, you`re always on your guard when you get the opposition out for a low score, but this was piss poor from England, up to the bowlers again to give them chance of staying in the game.
