Really wonder how loud noise will be during the day and if they even might work at night ...........................................

As reported earlier, they're bringing in a specialist crew to keep the pile driving noise down.......

Why anyone would risk staying there for a holiday now with the risk of noise is beyond me when pattaya is full of decent accommodation.

Well, I've taken the risk and booked for Christmas, as I said earlier, but Hilton side.

I'll be reading the updates here with interest to see if it looks too bad. I won't lose much if the deposit if I decide to cancel early enough.

Not sure I'll find another condo as good, in a decent location, for the same price though. The hotels I looked at were considerably more expensive - though I'd prefer a Condo.

I know they are great condos and it seems that you have done all you can do to minimise any possible noise but I just wouldn't risk it myself,as i said earlier accommodation wise pattaya has a lot of options. Good luck anyway.

I'm staying at Hilton side over Christmas too and I'm sure it won't effect my holiday at all.

WS side would be different though.

Will staying on a higher floor WS side make a significant difference to noise levels?

How about people that will sleep though nearly anything.

You could steal my sheets when I am sleeping and I likely would not notice.

I recently booked a room at VT6. Too bad I have to wait 7.5 months til my next holiday. I also went for a room on the Hilton side. Last visit I dealt with 2 weeks of power tools waking me up at 9am every morning. And no it wasn't from my bag of assorted rabbit vibes. Every stay I've dealt with a loud or smelly remodel job near my room. Never forget to pack earplugs.

Over the last couple of years I have stayed in several rooms and booked rooms for mates on both sides of VT6.

Hilton side on the 20th floor back from beach end now, at night I can hear drunk girls bar girls talking or should I say skawking to each other as they walk down soi beside festival at 1am heading to Beach Rd. During the day as it is the car access enterence to the Hilton hotel and festival, traffic noise and horns as cars access the multi story car park goes up to the 6th floor. The sound echos out between Festival and VT6.and even the traffic cops whistle is clearly heard all day, I can hear him now as I type. Can also hear the excited kid playing in the pool having fun.

Although I havent stayed on WS side during the demolition, I could hear the chain saw all day clearing trees and jack hammer when removing the concrete foundations.

Short answer "Height will not impede the noise".

I can only suggest contact Luca direct he really is a great Guy and has become a very good friend and looked after me and my family on previous trips. he offered me this condo at approx  1400 baht per day plus 1000 baht for final clean plus electric which is about 2.5k to 3.5k baht a month dependant on how much you use the aircon. last time I was in Pattaya in april ...had a condo from Luca in cozy beach ..I had to  work when I am in Pattaya working all day with Aircon on quite alot my last electric bill was 4000 for a 2 bedroom condo 3 aircon units  which included my daughter and her grand parents using as well in her room quite alot and constantly forgetting to switch it off when we went out  LOL bless her.

when I had an issue with the toilets smelling quite bad phoned LUca and in one day he had both toilets repalced at a cost of 10000 baht. no problem at all. I know the cost as he left me the money to pay the plumber when he finished as I was in the condo working... that the type of guy he is. very trust worthy both ways.

drop him a mail sure he will do you a deal if you mention you got his information here

Hope this helps

Cheers

Either his exchange rate calculations are off or he's charging about 38,000 baht per month for that condo.

I've never rented a condo in Pattaya before, but that seems a bit pricey to me...

Ummm...1400 baht per day for 30 days = 42,000 baht.  Tack on the 1000 baht to clean it and 2500 to 3500 for electricity, and you're at over 45,000 baht....

Again, I've never rented a condo in Pattaya.  Is it just me or is that a little high?

that guy must have super hearing to hear bargirls 20 floors below... and it could only be possible with the sliders open...

I would think renting on the Hilton side would be fine, some great views from the higher floors too!

Yep, I've been staying on the Hilton side last few trips up above the 20th floor.  You can hear the bars on Soi 7/8 if you're on the balcony, and a bit of a hum from the fans on the roof of Central if you're outside too.  Inside, no problem.  Last time I stayed, the building was pretty much silent, just the click-clack in the hallways as a few punters walked their ladies back to the room.

Views are great if your room is in the right spot.

I would think for now that VT6 will be fine.  Once construction goes into full swing I think the whole building will suffer noise, especially when the foundations are put in.  The central balconies are open and the hallways will echo the construction work throughout the building.

Cheers
