Who did you use when booking your condo for the 25 days and were you at the location when you did this such as being able to see the condo first and the choices or at home away from Pataya - Thanks

I did it at home. I have stayed at VT6 before, although not in this exact condo. Dancewatchers and Honey have pictures on their websites that will help you select.

I saw a lot of brush recently cleared and trees mostly cut down. There is also a wall that separates the old house/ structure on the back of the lot. Still this may not mean much in the ways if starting construction.

went past the beach rd end today and there has been some activity.

some trees have been trimmed and had wood supports/surrounds fitted...........i guess those are staying , and some that look like they were dead have been felled.

some pics......

a lot of the trees near the beach rd end must have been protected in the planning phase.

today i noticed they had been numbered

there would be no point in doing that if they were gonna chop them down

That is a good idea to preserve the natural habitat, the developer can always build around this.

Photos overlooking the lot, taken this morning for this thread.   :Welcome:

VT6 S

VT6 C

VT6 N

Doesn't appear to be any sort of 'laying out' of the lot yet (lines drawn or strung up, etc).

The two tree trunks in the center look recently chopped back, that's the only indication I see from up above.

No activity this morning on the lot.

Once they get going for real, surely one of you lot overlooking the site will set up a live cam?

Just what SWB said. It is getting close to ground breaking time.

from beach rd today.....

They brought back the equipment today (crane and excavator) but didn't appear to do anything with it this afternoon.

Only thing that has been going on for the past week is watering the cut-back trees they are keeping (marked with yellow signs).

To anyone worried about staying in VT6 'because of construction' - don't worry.

This entire process has been going so slowly, it will probably be months before they actually begin scraping the land and laying the foundations.

If your priority is sleeping someplace super quiet, you've got the wrong idea considering anyplace between Beach and Second roads anyway.   :HaHaHa1:

The problem will be early morning construction noise for those condos facing the project and losing the ambiance of a relaxing pool setting during the day while the construction is in progress.

Thanks for the updates!

Probably a stupid question, but no issues with the Hilton while construction is going on, correct?

I figure VT6 will absorb the noise and I won't even know it's going on.

Looking at the proposed layout of the site, the Hilton is probably going to get direct sound from the Cape Pattaya building (Beach Road side) but VT6 will block direct sound from the Kantary Pattaya building.  Not that it makes much difference once the 'noisy' part begins since it's so close.  :Dunno:

Today it looks like the workers are leisurely taking their time thinking about cutting up the few trees felled yesterday.

(Of course, I'd be working pretty leisurely too, for 300 baht a day.)

Hey guys, anyone have any new info on this? I'm looking at staying at VT 6 from 2 July ( in 2 weeks time), but don't want to if there is some serious work about to start next door. Don't mind a few guys with chainsaws though. Thanks all.

from what I have read and seen, I bet two weeks from now it will still be ok...

I could be wrong, they could be driving pilings by then...  but things don't seem to move that quickly there, hahaha.

No problem. All the handful of laborers have done over the past week is chop down a few trees and designate/protect other trees that are being saved.

Nothing on the ground to indicate anything has been laid out/surveyed, much less anywhere near actual construction.

Bear in mind that they're going to have to finish the tree clearing/saving. Then knock down the existing two structures on the lot. Then scrape off all the remaining vegetation from the work site. Then lay out the footprints of the new buildings. Then actually begin digging out the 'basements' and connect any under-surface utility (sewer and water at the least) connections. All that before even thinking about preparing to drive pilings. Before they drive the pilings though, the walls of the 'basement' have to be concreted and stable... et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

All that has visibly been done thus far is putting up some poles for incoming wiring (but no wires) and some tree cutting (but the trunks are still lying about), and that's been done sloooooowly. The whole overgrown inland fourth of the lot hasn't even been touched yet. It'll be months before they get to the actual construction at this rate. From what little I've read about the oversupplied condo market in Pattaya, the developers probably aren't in any huge hurry either.
