Getting elevated to Advanced Member status

Well hi all...been a loooooong time

lurker at the forum, i finally have

found the courage too write here.....

I also think it is a great idea to

review post and not just set a number..

(but would be easier for me to atain trusted member)

Hello, this is my first post. I like this forum. Because I want to spend 4 weeks in may this year in Pattaya. Before I have been to Bangkok, Khorat, Chiang Mai (two times) and Pai.

ok, new member here..... now i understand why i can't come into any interesting forums or pic gallary.... 25 posts.... hmmm.... this could take a while maybe i need a case make that a bottle of Chivas...haha... i live i pattaya, so i think it would be faster to get Trust Membership if i bout you 25 beers... hehehe ... what do i have to do to get elevated early?

Well, I'll add my 2$ here seeing as I'm a newbie myself. And I can't convey the gratitude for the advice I've been given and information I've gleaned. I'll be in Pattay next month and hope I'll meet some of you BMs while I'm there. (22FEB-MAR09).

 

For the time being I'll keep posting, hopefully relevent contributions that will add to the great content already here.

Due to abuse of the Pattaya Addicts policy that automatically promoted Members to Trusted Members once they had made 25 posts we have decided to change how Members are promoted to Trusted Member status.

 

Pattaya Addicts Administrators will now review the posts made by each Member prior to them being elevated to the Trusted Member level. A review will automatically take place after a Member has reached 25 posts and a decision will be made by the Administrators whether their posts merit their being elevated or not.

 

This is not being done to punish anyone but rather to increase the amount of intelligent and meaningful content being posted on the forum and to tone down the amount of one word and one line posts which are being made with the specific purpose of getting to the next level.

 

It is still acceptable to make a short post to congratulate someone, wish them well, thank them for their post or pictures and other such things for which a shorter post may be appropriate but in order to be elevated some significant posts must be made which offer new content to the forum.

 

It is hoped that this policy will encourage more Member participation on the forum and lead to more of the Members being active in ongoing discussions.

 

The Administrators may also decide to elevate someone early if it is determined that their participation and postings are of an above average level and warrant it.

 

Some of the best ways to get yourself noticed early are by submitting trip reports, bar and hotel reviews. Posts with photos are always regarded more highly than those without and a friendly, congenial and helpful attitude towards other Members is greatly appreciated by all.

 

Anyone who believes that they are worthy of an early promotion is free to appeal to the Administrators at any time and their posting history will be reviewed.

 

Elevation to Trusted Member will still gain you access to all of the Trusted Member forums as well as unfettered access to the picture gallery.

 

Members who are being reviewed/awaiting review will show as Member + in their profile under Group.

 

 

25 posts is harsh when you feel on trial when not even there..early accept just lets us into the world we have enjoyed but I know you have to rules.

Guys, it's not just the number of posts, but the QUALITY of them. Write something interesting, entertaining or educational to other PMs about your experiences in the LOS and they'll consider

changing your status.

 

Find out if a "Mod" (Moderator) is about - look for the names in Red Text in the chat window - and ask them, once you've hit 25 posts. Remember - no flaming and no dodgy stuff (like kiddie porn - we run a clean house here!!)

Just wondering, what are the advantages to having your status elevated? Just joined(1st post!), and I love this place! Have not been out of the airport at bkk, only brief layovers, but am already planning on getting my ass to pattaya, to enjoy....Seems like paradise...

it's only right that we do a review, i guess. cos the chinese forums i subscribe to have even more stringent rules. spamming in order to increase post counts was a very bad problem in chinese forums before they implemented the rules...

[sorry for my stupid previous comments! i was just making them to get elevated! the only problem is i havent been to pattaya so how can i contribute if i havent been there!? I am all booked to go in 10 weeks , then i can give you photos and reviews etc, you wont regret it

I am in the same boat as you although I have been to BKK on several occassions but I still consider myself a newbie. My next trip in 9 weeks will definately be my first in Pattaya. So hopefully I can collect as much quality info as I can before touch down in BKK.
