The worst thing was, that one of the more intrusive girls managed to sneak inside and upstairs and got the maid to unlock my room door!!! while I was just banging another chick in my room. Imagine what could have happened if I wasn't there!

That's a bad one! What the f*ck did that maid think?

:Flying:4th trip - "The Afterwork" is finally happening in May :Cheers9:

I think the maid had seen her with me before and that girl was clever enough to convince the maid to unlock the room for her. The terrifying thing is that exactly the  same story happened to me just two years ago in a hotel on ko chang!

How did the girl get past reception though? Especially given where the lift and stairs are i.e. a few metres away within sight of reception and that you have to go right past reception to get to them (unless I suppose you come in the back way via D Apartment but you are still highly visible from reception even if you do take that route)

My experience was that reception in D Hotel was always staffed and the ladies manning it were particularly stringent and professional when it came to signing in guests etc

I had the same impression as you and felt very safe in the D. Reception said that they "didn't see her go up"...so I guess they might keep an eye on girls walking in with farang but if girl alone just walks to the lift without bothering reception they probably won't stop her, at least in my case.

I should add the fact that the intruder girl told me before she was working in a hotel so that might have trained her enough to make her way into my room.

Reception seemed honestly worried about what happened and assured that they had instructed the maid to never do this again but you guys should be warned by my story. This can probably happen in a lot of hotels and as I said, the same story already happened to me at Top Resort Koh Chang. Difference in that case was, that resort has a separate entrance where you can bypass reception.

Just returned from a 2 week stay.. great room cleaned quick every day.  Pool was fine on roof not the biggest in town but nice to cool off had a deluxe or superior room 608 straight across from lift nice.  If you take your laundry across street use store with laundry written on steel overhang. She has a cat with a bum leg from motorbike also another one that's got one eye. Nice to take em in. Would stay again

The wifi is reasonable but if you really need it you should request a room close to a router. If you only need wifi for a phone or pad then I'd just rely on sim data.

I found the standard rooms directly opposite the router in the corridor to have the best reception. On my last stay I booked a superior room and even though the routers were on my side the reception wasnt that great so I adjusted the router so it faced my room more which improved the signal to 12mps.

My room was 608.  I thought the WiFi was fine,   You need another password for pool area or lobby.  Guess that’s normal for all hotels

They are 18+.

Walkin prices as per website I think http://www.dhotelpattaya.com/index.php/room-rates And there are weekly prices as well with which cleaning is done every alternate day and its lesser than daily rate.

I think this hotel gets fully booked especially in high season so worth booking in advance.

Thanks. Is theire a big difference between standard and deluxe room? Is it worth the extra 200baht? And where are the chickens located front or back? Thanks.

Almost nothing. I think the deluxe rooms at facing the back to a little quieter. Interior almost identical.

Not sure about deluxe seem to have a bath tub. Superior is front facing and standard is facing the back. Rooms are very identical and the only difference was the decor of the sofa and bedstead. Superior has less "chicken issues" as per them. I only heard some street dogs during my stay.

I booked dexlue for $33 a night for 11 nights and standard $26 a night for 9 nights. Both in September. I will report back the difference between the two rooms. Although on Agoda it says the deluxe is 8 SQ larger than standard

One thing to note about the rooms is hat the TV's have a USB port, that came in handy for watching a few downloaded shows ( on a USB I brought with me) with my morning coffee. I imagine a few BM's on here could use it to teach / show some "porn moves" to the girls with little English skills.:D

Do you guys leave keys at front desk when going out? I love this hotel but not a big fan of big key chain and feel it’s too easy to lost (I actually lost one time during my drunk nightly adventure but one nice Thai found it and bring it back).

I read that it’s a policy at D apartment next to this hotel to leave keys at front desk but not remember if D hotel have same policy.

Yes same policy here as D Apt and D Xpress - leave keys at front desk

Good to know, probably for best to leave key there before night outings.  Almost lost 2000B security deposit (i feel that was steep deposit, coz my former "home" 247 boutique hotel only require 500) on lost key.

Stayed there in June - standard room 1st floor facing D Apartments - so zero view.  The poultry run around in a residence on the right hand side of the building (as you enter the front).  You can see (and hear) them from the roof pool.  Nice room and good staff.

Staying in English Rose Guesthouse (once again - was here for Songkran) and have a view of many of the massage places and bars from my balcony room.  As I'm typing, there's a party close by in the Boar's Head Restaurant and so is noisy.  But it's the first loud party this trip and they always seem to close down by 1am.  D hotel ticks a lot of good boxes but is not actually on Buakhow but a little soi with a laundry in front of it and no bar downstairs.  Do prefer where I am now, for atmosphere and convenience, although each to his own.
