Let's hope all the stadiums are complete and fully operational as some are still a work in process.

An artists impression even  :WinkGrin1:

Watching the friendly match last night at Wembley , not impressed with England at all, no sparkle there , Steve Gerrand looks he had well pass his sell by date , turned 34 yesterday , Wilshire came on to replace Gerrand then England found a bit of a sparkle toward the end. If I was Roy I would tell Steve to forget about the trip and bring Walcott instead , I likes Barkley who only came in late, I think he will start on Wednesday . Baines was doing good as well. England have a solid defence with great goalie Hart behind, Peru is not a great team, no surprise England had won . Maybe they are rusting or too tired after a long hard battle in the premiership this year. I fancy Italy or Argentina to win the World Cup. England best chance maybe to the quarter final spot .

Today's newspaper Sunday Times , claimed that the committee of the World Cup got a backhander of £5 million to award the venue of 2022 to Qatar , I never trusted that Blatter, he always wins the votes to hold on his seat as chairman of a World Cup .

Who will replace Qatar ? United Kingdom or England I guess.

Personally I believe that FIFA will close ranks and the competition will still be held in Qatar.

If the allegations are proved to be true then there is no other option then to re-open the bidding process.  If this does happen then I would like to see Australia host the competition.

This story has now gone global and congratulations to the Sunday Times for breaking this exclusive story.

Qatar getting the world cup was one of the biggest jokes ever, fans are really going to be able to party there arnt they, and if your a woman or gay god help you. FIFA saw the dollar signs and that was it.Corrupt tosspots the lot of em.England could host a world cup tomorrow,we`ve got the stadiums, the infastructure, and a fanbase that genuinely passionate about the game.I`ve no problem with Russia hosting a world cup cos at least they`re a footballing country with tradition, but Qatar......for gods sake.

You could say the same thing about US pre 1994.

the reasoning giving us,and qatar the world cup was basically the same ,they wanted the game to expand the border.i think the idea is for the first part a sound one,but they could maybe have made a better choice i think.just now lookig at the brasilian -panama game brasil leads 2-0 without impressing anyone

England drew 2-2 to Ecuador at Miami friendly match , Rooney and Lambert scored each goal, Barkley is impressive once again. Two rivals of the premiership(Valencia and Sterling) got send off . Valencia foolishly reacted after X-rated tackle from Sterling .

Jocky it might have just been a friendly but there was plenty of talking points in this game.  Roll on Saturday night

I think chile could be one of the dark horses especial if they can get that lad from juventus vidal fit,i know they are in a tough group but they can put pressure on spain and Holland by winning there first match.

For me it will be a south American Team. The 2 obvious suspects are Brazil and Argies!

But if you want an outside bet on a European Team ITALY!! Yes they are not on form but they ALWAYS find a way to get to the later stages and often are in the final. I will chuck a cheeky 20 down on Italy.

Quite true they wernt very big on football/soccer,but although USA 94 wasnt a particularly memorable tournament (and not just cos England didnt qualify) i think it was a success in general terms,America does like its sport and even if football/soccer isnt their first love it was quite well supported, they had the stadia and everything else in place needed for a massive sporting event like the world cup.Never mind football but Qatar have virtually no sporting pedigree at all,i mean whats their national sport, kestrel flying or something? :P

England drew again , 0-0 to Honduras. First half was poor unitil Wilshire and Barkley came on in the second half, they became a better football team. For me Roy should be tough to let Barkley to replace Gerrand at the startling line up against Italy , Barkley played good again today and I cannot understand why he is afraid to drop Gerrand . Barkley will be the captain of England in few years time, mark this post for a reminder . :)

Barkley should play in front of Gerard Jocky not instead of him, Gerard plays a deep roll which would allow Barkley to pick up the ball and run at the defence, but I agree Barkley should start, my only worry is that he would get frustrated against the sides that are used to not giving anything away{ie the Italians} but he is an exiting prospect.

Brazil all the way for me, I expect them to meet Argentina in the final. A Rooney led England to disappoint as usual, & my dark horse tip for a semi final spot are Colombia with Rodriguez to be one of the star players of the tournament before he completes a move to old Trafford (in my dreams).

I agree with Jockey KIng, I honestly think Gerrard should not be in the starting 11. Gerrard got a lesson by Pirlo in the Euros He has only gone backwards since then. England are never going to win this world Cup in a Million years so I am all for setting up with Barkley and Wiltshire/ Henderson in the Centre.

Get the new generation playing together, also Rooney never sees enough of the ball to do anything with it.

Gerrard and Lampard are anyways there on the bench if needed.

Yeah yeah you are right, but they have Lampard or Wilshire that can play that role and push Barkley up front,
