That's a pretty damn good looking burger - the fries and onion rings look good, too!

Of course, I've been starving myself to try to lose some more weight before my trip, so even a Big Mac looks pretty good to me right now!  555555

ladyboy/gary burgers are made to order, right in front of you!!!

OK - thanks for info.

I'm guessing you probably don't get choice of breads.

But controlling the burger contents and dressings is a step forward.

All doubtless while being propositioned by a ladyboy.

As already said - only in LOS!

Well if you are in the area you can buy decent bread rolls from a bakery in Soi Excite. It is situated behind Triangle Bay. Triangle Bay sits on the corner of Chayapoon and Excite. Closest landmark is Oasis Ago Go on the corner of Buakhou. I would suggest you buy your bun through the day and take it to Porn the hamburger lady.

Warning the bakery closes before Hamburger lady opens.

You mean the Continental Bakery next to Triangle Bar. Their buns are ok, but not the best.

For me the best buns are at Friendship supermarket (among other places)--from Das Bakhaus, 10 baht each, you can tell the by the dusting of flour on them. Probably called dinner rolls or something like that.

Actually I think it's called Yakuza burger:

just had a burger here a couple nights ago.... its next to JP bar, under the stairs that go up to play party club.... the burger was pretty damn good for a street stall, almost restaurant quality.... although it was a very small burger, the quality of the ingredients were quite good, and the lady put a lot of attention into making my burger just right.

if youre on WS and hungry for a burger, its worth a try.

I always wonder what is in these cheap burgers?

I bought ingredients to make 3 sandwiches, buns, salami, cheese, lettuce and mustard.

The sandwiches cost me 133bt each to make at home.

I had a Gary Burger last night and wow. I cheated and took it home and put it on a plate. Poon makes a great burger.

I did a photoshoot and you can find the photos by clicking on this link.

Thanks for the recommendations guys.  I'm going to try Aussie Burger, a Gary Burger and Carl Junior's next trip.

We don't have Carl Junior where I live so it will be interesting to give it a go.

Will get back to you all with photos.

Why can't McDonald, Burger King etc make a decent product??

That's not the business model. Provide fast food and provide it cheap is what they do and it obviously works.

McDonald's primarily appeals to kids and teenagers. They've experimented with more adult-oriented burgers over the decades, but they never took off. I would think most adults only eat at McDonald's if they've got kids or they don't have a lot money.

Burger King has always had more of an adult appeal (and price). Their Whoppers are pretty good, but they can't touch Carls Jr.

tata sauce lol. I guess phonetically its the right way to spell it.

went to carls jr a few days back ....3rd floor central festival, beach side, for anyone who doesn't know. Not sure what the fuss is about .....they seem to do make to order, rather than already made and stacked like McD's etc. I'm no fast food connoisseur, but doubt i could tell the difference between that and burger king.

agreed.... carl jrs is a bit better than the other fast food joints like burger king and mcdonalds, but at the end of the day its all fast food garbage.... i really cannot understand why some guys seem to think its an excellent burger..... its nothing special at all IMO.

Had a Aussie burger for the first time last week. They advertise "100% beef" but it seems to have some kind of extender, maybe bread crumbs or something, to make it a finer texture than any 100% beef  I've ever eaten. The burger was okay but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. It's a dead giveway when the waitress doesn't ask how I want it cooked that I'm going to get a grey, dry burger. The exception is the Golf Club burger. It;s grey like most burgers in Pattaya, but juicy and flavorful. How come most good places will ask how you want your steak done but not your burger? Is Thai meat unsafe to eat unless cooked to death?

Every hole a goal.

I guess the french would disgaree!

Unless it was a place in thailand, where you could trust the meat to be minced steak, then yeh, undercooked minced beef is not for me. And I doubt you're going to get for 100 baht.

Yes - you're right PB.

Both these major international companies do a huge amount of research.

Every aspect of their burgers receives a lot of thought.

The product that makes it across the counter is the one that most customers want.

I'm just not one of them unfortunately.

So why doesn't somewhere make more adult, upmarket burgers?

Because those people look down on burgers anyway.

It's one of those unsolvable conundrums.......

I only ate one, and I had exactly the same experience. The patty fell apart, and I felt it was because of fillers. I didn't enjoy it at all; it was more like a meatloaf on a bun. I never went back.
