Superstar Combo with extra bacon at Carl's Jr Central Festival Pattaya is my favorite hamburger price 300 baht with thick crunchy fries and free refill soft drink. :P

It looks like I'm in the minority here, but I think Carl's Jr. is the worst fast food burger joint around. All they do is slop a lot of sauce on a mediocre burger IMO. I never eat there when I'm at home in California (even though they send me 2 for 1 coupons every week) and wouldn't even think about going there in Thailand. Especially if I'm paying 10$US(300B) for a fast food  meal

Those Carls Jr burgers are swimming in mayo, catsup, and other things that add inches to your waistline.

Back home I consider In-N-Out the best. Tried Five Guys, fries are awesome but burgers so-so.

Can't compare CJs to places like in n out or nations, but compared to the other (inter)national chains, I'd take CJs hands down. Can always ask for light on mayo and ketchup.

But when I want a burger I usually hit up the little place on soi buakao and get one with bacon cheese fried onions and a fried egg for 100 baht. It's only open late at night though and surrounded by LB lol

Here is a link to it's location. It is the shuttered up white box stand. Like I said only open late at night.

Hi guys this topic may have featured in the past but i would like to touch on it again to get some updates. I need to know where you eat your favourite burgers. Its for an upcoming series i have created on food in pattaya. First stop the Burger.

Please let me know where your favourite burger venue is, and it may feature on our show.

cheers.

Hi, my favourite Burger comes with a story. The lovely lady, Porn runs the small stand  and my friends and I have named it The Ladyboy Burger Stand, because ladyboys solicit in the area and often perch on her stools.

A Gary Burger being built.

I noticed it one night pissed as and ordered a Burger. I gave her 100 baht and said keep the change. I went there soon after and she told my wife "last time he tipped me so this time I give him extra bacon." I tipped her again and next time I got Tomato and onion cooked to go with the raw tomato and onion.

The Gary Burger was born. I have a long running thread on PA and many Board Member's who arrive in Pattaya like to meet our Expat group. Many of them now go to the stand and ask for a Gary Burger for 100 baht. They are the best value in town and consist of beef pattie, double bacon, cheese, egg, lettuce, tomato and onion both raw and cooked. I like my food wet so I get mayo, mustard, tomato and barbecue sauce.

Now for photos of the Burger which quite simply the best value Burger anywhere.

The stand is situated on Soi Buakhou at the T intersection with Soi Honey. If you walk down Soi Honey you can look at the stand across Soi Buakhou.

People who haven't been to a Carl's Jr. might be interested to know that the burgers are more like a real good American diner burger as opposed to fast food, even though it's considered fast food.

You'll never walk into a McDonalds or Burger King again.

I can second that!! Carl's Jr is the best thing to happen to the Burger scene in Thailand.

There's a small burger stand in the cluster of small beer bars/pool tables off of Walking Street (the road that leads to these beer bars is to the right of Soi 16 coming from second road side, you pass through some vendors selling stuff, some restaurants, a disco.

Always pass by but never saw anyone eating there.

Never had a good burger in Pattaya. It's a tip off if they don't ask how you want it cooked. You can then look forward to a grey, dry piece of meat. Maybe Thai meat isn't safe to eat other than thoroughly cooked through.

180 THB for a burger with your two toppings and fries at the Beer Garden at the beginning of Walking Street. For me it is the beautiful location by the sea and 45 thb small beers that do it for me. :)

Best burger I've had? made it myself at home. However, in Bangers, the Nana Burger street cart at the entrance to Nana Plaza has for years been a good source of reliable, no-frills 60 baht burgers. Not 'gourmet' mind you but better than that slab of grey shoe leather served at the Mickey D's across the street by a light year or two.

I've always gone to Carls Jr - I get the biggest burger and 3 chicken tenders with the 2 sauces (they are divine)

Although that Gary Burger looks irresistable and I'll be hitting it up next trip.

Back home I never touch fast food, but after a few days of Thai food and consecutive benders while in patts my body craves some comfort food. Carl's jr had a solid burger and fresh fries. If you are worried about it being covered in various shit just order it with no mayo or sauce and do your own ketchup.

This also guarantees a fresher product in my experience. I have the most sensitive gut out there and cj's did me right last trip when I was struggling.

Not just comfort food, but you need something greasy and fatty to absorb beer! English food and American fast food are ideal for this purpose. Step 2 of avoiding hangovers, is making sure you drink enough water when you go drinking. Step 3, of course, is practice regularly. You never get good at anything without practice, this includes alcohol consumption.

Another reason to have western food from time to time is I find if I have Thai food every day my stomach goes bad. This also happens to my Thai wife so it isn't just my sensitive western belly. Sometimes it's bacteria but mostly I think it's just too much chili. You get used to it and don't even notice until you spend the morning on the crapper...
