Nixonsbest and Worst Breakfasts

BTW : How late does LK the Empress serve breakies?

They finish sharp at 11:00, in fact they start clearing away 10 minutes before that.

IMO not so good for a 'fry-up' breakfast but excellent for all the other options.

The ultimate breakfast thread, no need for anyone ever to start another one (there must be at least about 20) well done, and thanks for the pics.

My one point to everyone one is, always ask first to make sure they put it on a hot plate, what is the point of putting a nice hot breakfast on a cold plate, Pig and Whistle Jomten is a bad culprit

I think this comes from a lot of Farang managed places, not having a lot of food service experience, its a golden rule in catering.

Zee German Breakfast 195 THB plus 15THB for an extra egg. Nice breakfast comes with coffee, but changed for a water and a egg cup full of liverwurts, that was a treat.

Then she turned to shit! Business owners dont give options if your staff can not comprehend. No baked beans means I dont want my meal swimming in it! No fried bread hello! And don't give me the option of poached eggs, if your staff are going to fry thrm anyway. And cold bubble and squeak, burnt snags, a good menu fucked through lack of training!

If you had pulled it of it would have been a great breafast for 190 THB.

Err, that egg looks like one of those plastic things in display food - and WTF is that other thing? Soup? The sandwich looks okay, but raw white onons? For breakfast?

The Little Wonder looked gross too. That would literally be three breakfasts worth for me.

Thanks for taking one for the team. Please keep the reviews coming.

Great thread - I have yet to settle for my best cooked breakfast in Pattaya

I spoke to the lady in Soi 6 - Six tables or whatever its called

I advised her that no-one in Pattaya does a 'grilled breakfast' like the Irish lady does at the 'caff' I go to in London

If she did start doing so and it was tweaked - it could get up there with the best breakfasts

In UK it consists of:

One egg, grilled bacon, grilled sausage, grilled tomato, grilled mushrooms, white pudding - 2 toasts or bread and butter (doorsteps) - mug of tea with the tea bag left in - cost in UK £4.50

Had breakfast at the Zen bar cafe in jomtien just over thr hill yesterday.

It was actually quite good.

They had english, american, and swedish breakfast packages all for around 90 or 99 baht, cant remember exact, and its served all day. I had mine around 9pm lol. You can also go alacarte on the breakfast and put your own combination together. They bring an itemized menu with price by item and you use a dryerase marker to check off your selections, even how you want you eggs so there is no mistake.

I opted for the "american" combo with 2 scrambled eggs, american bacon, toast, home fries (potato pieces pan fried with bacon shreds and onions) and a cup of tea. I also added an optional orange juice but im not sure if they even charged me for that. I also decided not to eat in the restaurant itself, i moved next door to the bar lounge so i could kick back on the couch and watch football on a bigscreen.

Eggs were properly scrambled medium, not too dry and not too wet. Bacon was also nicely medium. Teabag was left in tea and brought with plenty of milk and sugar on the side. Portions were average size, although i wouldnt have minded extra home fries as they were good. Staff was attentive and courteous without being pushy. Id say its a hell of a deal for under 100baht.

Granted is a bit far away, but im staying near walking st so it was only a short baht bus trip for me, and i wanted to hang out in their cigar lounge and have a puff after eating. Quite a relaxing spot and would recommend it if youre over that side of the hill.
