i may get laughed at with this question, but,

back home i try to eat fairly healthy and have been eating oatmeal and steel cut irish oats for breakfast for a while now.

i love it, with dried cranberries and a lot of cinnamon, mmmm

can i get that in pattaya?

i was always too embarrassment to ask.

don't get me wrong, when i am in pattaya i am on vacation which is an excuse to indulge in some food that i would stay away from back home.

The Continental bakery on Soi Xcite (?) does some very good healthy breakfast options - muesli with yogurt and fruit - worth trying IMO.

Mhyes.. Breakfast... Been to the canterbury tales cafe a view times, but i'm not much of a breakfast man.

I'd rather like a dish full of peeled and cut fruits like pineapple, mangosteen, lychee... But everywhere I've looked so far they only had a few slices of melon and apple. Guess you can't have it all.. :o

Usually stay on soi 8, so the Pig & Whistle's breakfasts do me just fine. Rosie's next door is ok too as both places do a decent Irish coffee. I don't go every day, as quite often i'll just have some soup from the food carts.

I've never tried the buffet breakfast at the Sunshine hotel, but i'll give it a go this time. It's paid for, so why not.

Which has a better English breakfast, Pig or Rosies?

For me, the Pig just edges it. Little things like bubble and squeak make a breakfast IMO.

But i also like Rosie's, can't really fault either of them.

The Ritz on on 13/1 (Second Road),not the cheapest but without a doubt the best breakfast I've ever tasted over here.

Their other food is good too.

Best value imo

When I was over a few weeks ago I tried The Sportsmans Grill Soi 13, The Ritz Soi 13/1, Ace Cafe Jomtiem, Rosie o Gradies, Pig & Whistle both Soi 7, Greggs Kitchen 2nd Road, The Little Wonder, 18 coins Soi Buakhao,The Victoria Inn, Jimmy Macs both Soi 6.

Out of all I would have to give the Ritz 1st place because the sausage was good and overall it was the best. The Sportsmans Grill was second but quite pricey, then the little wonder down the side alley by Kiss restaurant on 2nd road.

All were good, Jimmmy Macs and Ace Cafe were probably the least impressive.

However for a Sunday Roast I have to give that title easily to the Sportsmans Grill.

I had the big breakfast at Billabong when i was there. Was very good, eggs were cooked well, bacon tasted good and hash brown was good but the sausages just weren't quite right. i imagine its pretty hard to get good western style sausages in LOS, so i can't really knock off too many points for that.

for a good variety of breakfasts try the bakery on soi Excite, They serve American, Belgium, Continental, English, German, Swiss ,Scotish ,Texas and many more on a very extensive breakfast menu which includes healthy options too. All served with quality filter coffee and freshly baked breads. Opens at 5 am too if your about at that time.

My favourite hangover cure is the English breakfast at the Pig & Whistle and for the cheaper options I'd go for the B99 full English at the Le Katai.

I like my F.E.B. while away some days and concurr the pig and whistle , rosie'o'gradys both excellent and what you expect. I also became a fan of the elephant and castle on the 2nd road just turn to your right at top of soi 8 and its just along on the right, 2 sizes available for brekky and quick service followed by great food, good prices, english owner/ thai wife and very pleasant , had a few meals there and the gravy is just what you want as well, worth a trip in my opinion.

Bake n' Brew on Soi Exzyte does a great breakfast with excellent, *fresh-brewed* coffee for under a hundred baht. Usually coffee itself is 30-50, so it's a good deal.

The Sportsman on Soi 13 was my breakfast haunt for the first week in June.

I live in the Middle East so I’m straight on the sausages and bacon when I get to the UK or LOS.I was impressed with the sausages and the bacon and would recommend their breakfasts as a whole.

Here is a picture of the sausage, egg and beans I enjoyed one morning.IMG00133-20110602-0725.jpg

Ive had breakfast in everywhere mentioned, in my opinion the 18 coins large breakfast at 130bht with 2 pieces of toast and fried bread with oj and tea or coffee is the best by a country mile, im an 18 stoner and i struggle to finish it, keeps you running all day long...

I'll go anywhere that has good coffee. It's a rarity in Thailand IMO.

I go to the Apex hotel for brekkie...I think it cost 110 baht,it is very close to where I stay and it seems that you can keep going up and getting more if you feel like it...food quality is pretty good in my opinion, and some waitresses are OK on the eye as well.
