Any truth to the rumour that the whole English team has been out bar hopping since the debacle in Melbourne in the hope of catching covid and being ruled out of the remaining 2 tests?

An early exit?

BREAKING: Coach Chris Silverwood forced to isolate and will miss SCG Test.

Seventh positive in England’s camp. No players so far. 4 family. 3 staff.

Australia appear to have massive issues going into the Sydney test.

Who gets to bowl, Cummins, Star, Hazelwood, Lyon, Richardson, Boland, Neser? ……. massive issues :LMFO:

Perhaps we can play the 4th test like an under 10’s and lend a couple guys to the Poms so it will be more interesting?

Joking aside, I'd like to see more of Boland. A one off or his he really that good?

I think we may see some interesting cricket as having lost the Ashes I hope the English team will play more freely. We have some awesome players....who didn't quite turn up on the day.

Hmmm...  You've got me thinking.  If Boland is going to remove two or more sessions of play each time he bowls in a test, then for me, maybe no...

On the other hand, I would love to see 6/7 in a one day or 20/20...  Still thinking...:Dunno:

Everyone would agree, I'm sure, with hoping the Poms can play more freely....

Covid on debut for England has 1/0 after dismissing Travis Head. Better figures than Scotty B's 6/7 on debut??

Mitchell Marsh, Nic Maddinson, and Josh Inglis have all joined the Australian squad to provide additional cover.

Q What do you get if you cross the English cricket team with an OXO cube?

A. A laughing stock.

Q What is the height of optimism?

A: English batsman putting on sunscreen.

Q. What is the difference between an English batsman and a Formula 1 car?

A. Nothing! If you blink you will miss them both.

Q. What do English batsmen and drug addicts have in common?

A. Both spend most of their time wondering where their next score will come from.

Q. What does an English batsman who is playing in The Ashes have in common with Michael Jackson?

A.They both wore gloves for no apparent reason.

Q. What is the difference between Cinderella and the Poms?

A. Cinderella knew when to leave the ball.

Q. What's the difference between the Poms and a funeral director?

A. A funeral director isn't going to lose the ashes.

Good news for the Poms, rain is predicted over the next 5 days in Sydney, a 5 - 0 whitewash will probably be averted thanks to Mother Nature.

Rain in Sydney , early January ..  whatever next ☺️      England not deserving of any respite ,  need to be roundly thrashed again in the last 2 tests so the ECB have to take some action on the abysmal sell out of the English first class game ...

Poms 4/36.    Come on, we shortened the test with rain.     Show us something.   Please.

In the last two innings, Scott Boland’s figures are 7 overs, 6 maidens, eight wickets for 7 runs!

Boland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poms now 4/48

The English top 4 have scored less runs in total (ignoring extras) than the lowest scoring Australian in the top 4 (Labuschagne, 28).

no idea how the bails did not come off when green bowled to stokes and clipped the off stump

Yep, that was something for the books.

The Poms have shown a bit of fight in the second session today, an injured Stokes did himself proud, shame the top order couldn’t have been half as tough. Bairstow closing in on a ton, he probably deserves it and it just shows a determined batsman can score.

Surely that English opener Hazeem has played his last test...he gets out very cheaply every innings that he plays.
