Mr. Moo is closed for renovation.

yep, I had not been there in a few weeks, but the web site also states what you said. The web site does not give a targeted reopening date.

L’Olivier won’t be reopening and is for sale again.

A shame. I liked that place and it was very convenient. Although one of the main draws was the salad bar, which are not very good with regard to social distancing. It wasn't the greatest salad bar ever, but it was pretty decent with a nice range of fresh choices.

With L'Oliver closing where can I go for equivalent or close to it pumpkin soup?

I’m sure the chef will still want a job. You could sub-contract the management to the better half. :P

I did notice that the other Pig and Whistle, Soi 7, is about to reopen, now Big and Whistle and also has an Indian restaurant attached at the rear.

Not sure about Jomtiem P & W.

I drove by the Pig and Whistle in Jomtien this afternoon. They appear to be closed.

Guess I’ll have to change my routine, when I eventually get back. :Anger:

On recent trips my first pint has been in the Pig, looking out on the Hanuman statue. C’est la vie. :Ignore1:

I will keep an eye out for updates. It is not like I would be going out of my way to glance over there from time to time. The place is not boarded up or anything like that. It just seems not to be open.

Thanks. The website has gone which isn’t encouraging.

Took a look at Cafe des Amis' web site yesterday. It says they are planning to reopen in early June.

I picked up the GF at her hair salon the other night and we went for a drive down Jomtien Beach Road to check out a couple of restaurants that we like.

First try was Cafe le Mar. I think @jimbohposted that they were closed for remodeling. From what I saw they will be for a while longer. I drove past the location because I did not recognize it at all. If I spotted it correctly on the way back (watching traffic as I went), the remodeling has a ways to go.

Second try was Akvavit. Very much still closed and does not look to be reopening and day now.

We took it to Sandbar for a very good meal on the Ocean.

Its an onimous sign if a restaurant isn't preparing to open around the 15th. For a couple of weeks restaurants will be the go to places for a couple of beers and socialising as bars will remain closed. Would kickstart their trade.

IMO, if they don't reopen before 1st July, there's probably a good chance that they don't plan to open at all.

Sandbar is 1st  on my list post the 14th. Good beer, good food and a really chilled ambiance. Salmon looks amazing in photo above.

I try and remember to eat salmon several times a month. I thought Sandbar's salmon had been off a little this year, but the order the other night was much better. Best salmon I have had this year was over at Harlan's.

I wouldn't eat there if you paid me. Tried to screw a friend of mine over. Went into his restaurant (Cafe des Amis) and went round the tables telling the diners that his food was much better and they should try his restaurant. Got thrown out. A complete asshole. A recent TripAdvisor review of Comfort said it all, "If I'd wanted to be entertained by a clown when I was eating, I'd have gone to a circus".

Yesterday, I had lunch in Bake 'n Brew. Harland Gobshite was in there, obviously fancied some decent food for a change.

Harlan does seem to have a knack for being a jerk according to several stories that I have heard. I was unaware of his history with Blue, who seems to be a pretty decent guy based on the several times that I have spoken with him.

But, Harlan is a damn good chef IMO and obviously more than a little high strung.

I’ve heard there’s a new French restaurant opened in the middle of the Complex. Any confirmation or was someone confused??? Maybe around where Dick’s Cafe was??

The GF is going up to Khon Kaen for a few days to address a family situation. I will be on my own.

I will take a stroll through and see if I notice anything.

Is it not that bakery on the corner, where Hot Legs bar was?

I did wonder if they were talking about that place but mentioned some meals they’d had rather than bakery items etc. They also said it only opened recently and the bakery has been open a year or more. As I said, they could be confused or I may have got the wrong end of the stick. Thinking about it, possibly the bakery has decided to add a restaurant menu?? They used to close early so an evening ‘bistro’ type place might make sense. If someone went in the evening then it would look like a new place as it was shut evenings previously.

Yes, they do also have restaurant style menu, along with daily specials.
