Will be doing 2 - 3 days in BKK this Feb, will be bring a girl from Patts with me so no mongering. What i am looking for is a basic hotel as neither of us know BKK well I would like one close to some tourist sites, someplace to catch a movie, check out the night market etc.

Renous,

Plenty to choose from. Suggest you wait till later next year as prices may come down near the time.

Tim thanks for the Citadines suggestion. I booked that through your website.

Now I'm looking at getting into Areca Lodge Pattaya Nov30-Dec12.

How much can you get it for?

Tim,

I'm looking at Fraser Suites Sukhumvit monthly rate starting Dec 15. They are offering the 1 Bedroom deluxe 60 sqm for 43487 month. Works out to be 1450 baht per night taxes included which looks very hard to beat for the size and quality, I've stayed here before.

Do you have any better recommendations?

Thanks

Hi Tim,

I'm looking at making a last minute trip to Patts from 26/12/2009 - 14/1/2010.

I realise this is high season. Do you have any recommendations? I stayed in hotel Vista last time, but found the room a bit sparse for an extended stay. I'd like something with chairs, table etc if possible, with safe and Internet access.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Budget between $1000 - $1500 Australian dollars.

aurelian275,

Thanks. Given your dates and budget. Would think you would only get a 2-3 star at the most. Most 4 star hotels are in the 1900-2200 Baht per night range for this period. Also quite a few have that stupid Gala Dinner thing on Dec 31st as well. Would suggest you come on Jan 1st onwards.

Given your dates and budget. Thats a tough one.

Can say Town Lodge is within your budget. If you could go over to 1,220 Baht, then Darjelling is the best.

hello there - i've noted your hotels site but thought i'd try through this forum first (my first post too!). i only recently discovered pattaya in september this year, but am already addicted with a return trip in december - january. i fly into bangkok on december 23 and out on january 15. i'll be spending most of time in pattaya, but am thinking of a few days in bangkok at start and finish (maybe december 23-26 and january 14-15). i am looking for reasonably priced accommodation in bangkok at about a 3 star level. as a guide, i'll be staying in eastiny place in pattaya for 1900 baht a night (recommended to me) so i'm looking for something comparable in the nana area. (by the way, i wouldn't mind knowing if that IS reasonably priced for pattaya - it was more reasonably priced off-season in september at 1100 baht a night so i just booked to stay there again)

as more of a guide, i had a brief overnighter at the ibis nana last time - it seemed reasonably priced and was in the right area, but a little small - so perhaps something comparable if not the same (but more spacious might be nice - even if a little more). i see it got a good review in the forum here. the grand business inn has also been recommended and the deluxe rooms look pretty good and reasonably priced on their website. it's also in the right location.

any comments re either of these? or any other suggestions?

thanks

Agree with Baipho/Baithong. Run by Rudi.

Also Poppa Palace is ok. Many guest unfriendly hotels in Patong.

hi tim,

right now i´m between two hotels and i don´t know which one choose.

i want to spend about 6000bhat a night.

I plan on doing a lot of shopping, visiting tourist stuff, doing a couple of nice restaurants, i´m going with my girlfriend but a friend of mine who is coming also might want to visit soi cowboy, nana, eden and annies.

In the Davis i looked the Diplomat Suite with jacuzzi and sauna, but i´m afraid it would be too far away from the bts, and everything in general, since i plan on doing a lot of daylight activities not just nightlife.i checked with reception and they told me no problem bringing guest.

In the Vie hotel i looked the deluxe suite, it has the bts right at the door and the hotel looks nicer than davis., but i´m not sure how girl friendly it is, although they told me no charge if booking directly through the hotel

So if somebody could give me you viewpoint, would be great.

thanks

Wow 6000 Baht per night, you can get something quite special.

I suggest a 5 star hotel. Plenty of good 5 star hotel deals on my new site www.thaihotelonline.net

Westin Grande, Sheraton Grande, Vie, etc.
