The boxes are media tv boxes not a pc so for that reason i wouldn't install OS X on the box.

Hi once you have the boxes in stock again & ready to install it, can you explain which type of mouse i would need and can you explain about the key pad, ive gone through the topic again, call me not savy on the tech stuff but could you explain why i need the mouse and probably a keyboard? At the moment i'm thinking on a one dimension with a tv remote in my mind,

I know with mine, using a Bluetooth "air" mouse make menu selection a whole lot easier. ("Air" mouse is on that works without needing a flat surface. You wave it around in the air.)

Originally I bought a Minix box from Tuk Com thinking I would save a few baht for it to be set up.  My honest opinion is "IT IS NOT WORTH IT!" Especially when you can buy one from Lanzalad already set up and ready to go.  It took me days of  frustration with the setting up process. In the end I managed to offload my box onto a friend who seems to be happy with what he needs it for.  I then bought a Minix x8 already set up by Lanzalad, no hassle and everything is working great.
          My only small gripe is that the Thai channels do have a lot of buffering when using them in England.  This is not due to Lanzalad or the MINIX, I think it is possibly due to the servers been in Thailand and not in the UK.  It would be great to have the Thai channels placed on an English server and use through XBMC, my life would be complete.

what is the process for signing up for the BKK server?

They both come installed on the minix box but the first one is free the second one you can pay at the 7/11, paypal or a bank transfer.

I've been asked many time whats free on the box and what do you need to pay for and what is the difference between then.

 

Ok i'll make this very clear by listing all the the contacts into 3 options.

 

Option 1 = Totally Free TV 100's of channels.

 

Option 2 = 1'000 baht for 200 days for 60 channels.

 

Option 3 = 350 baht per month for 115 english speaking channels.

Yes the sky sports are FREE but you will need a good internet connection for the quality that is streamed.

But in the UK Sky Sports is £24.50 per month on top of a standard subscription at around £25.00 per month TOTAL £49.50

 

So if your spending 1000 per month on your internet connection and if you go for a paid package with all sky sports and many other channels on a server here in Bangkok for only 350 baht per = £7.04

Yes you get two kinds of XBMC/KODI installed.

 

In fact i've got four versions on my own box but what was the under dog is now getting to the top on development.

 

MINIX is now using the under dog as it works better, i'm currently testing it and its fully loaded.

 

Its all to do with video acceleration, playback codec and audio all makes it more responsive and run smoother.

 

SPMC seam to be targeting all the main bug's where the other are not so fast at it...

Yes it does very much so as its on a local server and only needs to connect to you and Bangkok.

The idea of this is for me to sell a box fully loaded with everything set up for you and i have loaded boxes in the past for people that have got there own but many cheap models will not hold the programming.

 

I don't make anything from the Bangkok servers as its owned by a company in Bangkok running servers.

 

I add the package as it's great value for money and runs 24/7 all day and all night in great quality.
