Hi Alan,

 

Ouy does 2 styles of Szechuan. The take away version and the ethnic version. This one isn't on the menu but I prefer it. It's made with Szechuan peppercorns and chili oil. It has a spicey dark slighly bitter taste. It's fantastic.

 

You have to ask to speak to Ouy and ask for the 'Szechuan at the wok' I love it.

Had my second visit yesterday and was very impressed. Ordered some spring rolls, bloody awesome! And a fine veggie curry. Good food for my TGF and her little one as well. I'll be back!

 

Only comment really was a long waiting time. Maybe customers should get nid noy priority over takeaway orders? I was happy anyhow cos I wuz drinking 55

We are the real deal mate. Simply because Ouy (the chef) has cooked for years in Scottish Chinese kitchens. However, it is very difficult to find an assistant chef here that can learn Chinese cookery. That's probably why you've never been able to find a decent Chinese in Pattaya.

On Chinese New Year I went over to Wok n Rok on Bagel's recommendation for some British style Chinese food. I live in China and have been craving some good old fashion British Chinese takeaway. There is one dish which is a staple of this experience and that is Prawn Toast. I was very disappointed to see that you guys do not have it. Particularly because it doesn't really exist in Beijing and it has been years. Any chance of it surfacing?

 

Otherwise the food was good, particularly the duck. Beijing duck in Beijing sucks, the delicacy is the fat here which I hate.

Prawn toast is going on the menu soon. We lost our assistant cook recently and Ouy (chef) has been in the kitchen Herself since then, with only a helper or two. Prawn toast will make a good addition. There is so much we want to add and can add. Cheers.
