What do you think about kiss food?

On my recent trip in April this year I had 2 seperate thai girls want to go there. They loved the Thai food and rated it really highly as do I. I have to agree with BC that the western food aint up to much.

The TGs love it and I find some of the Thai food very good for the price, especially the fish. I wouldn't eat the Western food there - never tried it, never will. But it's OK for Thai food. Not a culinary high point, but definitely OK.

A good place to go for a quick snack - nothing ever wrong with the chicken with cashews and when the need for western food hits it is pretty hard to screw up a BLT.

Somehow, I had managed to skip this restaurant my first half dozen trips. I did go last trip, as the girl I was with raved about the place and when in Rome...

 

Had Tom Yum Kung, Penang Gai and Deep Fried Snapper with chilis and garlic on top. The fish was excellent with fluffy white meat that wasn't overcooked, the Tom Yum was good, but not the best I've had, but the Penang Gai took the cake. Out of all the places I've had this, it was the absolute best. It had a swirl of coconut milk in the base that was sooo good I wanted to pick up the bowl and drink it, LOL. Prices there are slightly higher than at a food cart, but still so cheap that you can't complain at all.

 

I can't speak for their western food as I haven't had any there.

 

The ONLY downside of Kiss Food I think is that it is an open air restaurant. We were sat between two big fans, that kept me cool, but also made the food get cold really fast.

Couldnt agree more, was a stopoff point at stupid o'clock in the morning on my way back to the hotel. Didnt rate their western or thai food, always seemed busy though

Kiss is ok if you want to eat at 3 am, apart from that there are many better places in Pattaya to eat.

There alot better places to Eat in Pattaya the only time I eat there some times is when I am coming back to my room at 5 AM rolling my ass off and drunk as hell. Never been there sober dont think I ever will.

the food is inexpensive and sometimes ordinary BUT!!!!!...........................equal in quality to most of the other joints that charge you twice as much and at least the equal to what i get at restauants at home.

 

if in doubt about where to it i can rely on KISS for a decent inexpensive meal. the whole fish in various forms is really tasty and real good value from my experience. my girlfriend recommends it with good reason.

 

to the poor sad BM's who say it's SHITE i can only say you have a champagne taste but live on a beer budget....lol.....stay at home!!..or get a life!!

For me it's like a diner. Nothing more nothing less. It's perfectly ok for what it is. The hawkers don't bother me, I like wasting their time by ignoring them, to see how long they'll stand there.

Not Champagne tastes just good old fashioned common sense.

 

The food from 90% of street vendors is better and cheaper. The place at Foodland just up the street for instance is similar priced, has AC, better food and more polite better trained staff also open 24 hours.

Like other, Kiss food at the top of second road on the dolphin roundabout is far better. Cant beat the red snapper!

 

The street traders piss me off GREATLY! If the Thai's would only see this and stop them coming in as so many others do! I know the next thing the mafia are in but it just pisses me off.

 

Last trip I made my own t-shirts with meeow khrap (no thanks) written in the Thai alphabet, my teelac emailed me with it. I expanded it and printed it on my t-shirts. It never worked :( Every tap on my shoulder when I had one on was met with can you not f*****g read! P**ses me right off.

I will open a new thread with the laugh I had in there one night! Incidently this is the Carlton hotel, stayed there countless times but it started getting a bit run down. I believe they are in the process of making good again. Anybody staying here ensure you get a room in the reception block! If its facing the pool all floor levels are fine. If its facing the road the ground floor is substandard! I believe they also have small apartments.
