Given that Alcohol, sex, money (and sometimes drugs) is such a volatile cocktail, I'm kind of surprised that these stories are not more common...and very thankful for that. Also some customers treat these girls like sh!t...you can't blame them for carrying some form of self protection (but not the motivation in this case).

 

Although after reading the 2 conflicting media reports, I'm not quite sure exactly what this story is. Korean or Japanese? Dead or still alive? Charged or showing leniency?????

Lets keep it in perspective, I was reading recently the Kentish gazette newspaper from back home and there were 2 stabbings, one fatal, several muggings by Eastern European layabouts, a Muslim Cabbie ran over someone and got away with it because he didnt understand the pelican crossing, fuel was about 1.80 per litre, some guy refused to pay a fine for putting bottles in his wheely bin and got 3 months in nick, some guy lost his licence because he had drunk 2 glasses of wine that the police gave him in a charity raffle, there were so many stupid stories in it, it made me so pleased I live here.

If you think Pattaya is bad walk out late in London or Manchester pissed and see how far you get.

A 26-year-old bar worker died after being stabbed during a late-night fight on a baht bus over a customer.

 

Rattana Champasri, 26, suffered stab wounds to her chest and stomach in the 2:30 a.m. attack July 3 ????. Police quickly arrested Piyaporn Chinsiri, 27, who brought the injured woman to Pattaya Memorial Hospital covered in blood with the knife still in her hand.

 

Piyaporn Chinsiri points to the knife she allegedly used to kill Rattana Champasri.

 

Piyaporn reportedly told police the two had been working at the Hollywood disco and met a Japanese man in his mid-20s who had agreed to hire both of them for a short-time liaison. However, Piyaporn claimed that during the baht bus ride to the customer’s hotel Rattana tried to kick her out of the taxi. A fight ensued and, Piyaporn claimed, she used a knife in self defense.

 

Scared off, the Japanese customer fled the scene.

 

Piyaporn was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder.

 

 

Such a tragic loss of human life, one person dead and the other will propably spend most of her life locked in Thai prison.

You mean they have HEP C! this is only passed through blood and semen, as for saliva you need to drink litres of it to become infected! Hep C is a very common STD and you would be surprised how many ppl have it! it isnt dangerous and it wont kill you, and has minimal side affects as I know someone that has had it for years, all the same I dont think it worth having! practice safe sex...then alls good :-)

I've lived in Manchester all of my 61 years and you're dead right Dave, I certainly would not walk around Manchester city centre after 10pm.

 

Maybe it's a false sense of security but I have never felt ill at ease walking around Pattaya or Bangkok's Sukhumvit, Soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza areas.

As soon as I saw the pic, the first thing I thought was, "Man, that chick looks hardcore." I'd have probably avoided a girl who looked that hardened, but I guess to each their own. I refuse to believe this didn't get crazy long before the stabbing too... that's more of an advanced monger skill... knowing when to stop the insanity. Good point and very very relevant. Wherever you live in the UK, pick up your local paper next week and if there isn't a catalogue of scary incidents involving local scumbags and fruitcakes please let me know where you live and I will buy a house.

Although this is a tragic incident that has had serious consequences for all concerned, the fact of the matter is, bad things can happen anywhere, anytime.

Well Dart I find your post rather ironic. You call on everyone to stop giving incorrect info then you proceed to give totally incorrect info yourself !!

Firstly Hep B is very definitely a sexually transmitted disease and is a very common affliction in many countries especially in Asia and China in particular. A vaccination is available and your local STD clinic will be able to arrange a vaccination program (it involves two sepatate injection separated by about 6 months) so worth looking into for Pattaya mongers.

 

Secondly you then comment on the original posters story and he was quoting an initial news report so no blame on him for that, but if you had cared to read through the posts you would have noted that the news source later reported different information. It appears the first report came from a reporter stationed at the hospital and trawling for the sensational stories that can come from there. Unfortunately the info gained by the reporter was half baked it appears and the event was rather different than the original report indicated. Viz the victim didn't die, the Japanese tourist was in fact Korean (not that the nationality of the tourist is integral to the story), the perpetrator and victim were good friends and the attempted murder charge that the police contemplated (couldn't habe been a murder or manslaughter charge since a death didn't occur) was not proceeded with due to the overall circumstances, the incident occurred at the bar the girls work at, the girls were not free-lancers.

 

So yes I applaude your call for people to give accurate info because there seems to be heaps of half baked comments made about all sorts of things in Pattaya generally and this forum is no exception, but it was unfortunate that you didn't follow your own exhortations on this occassion.
