I like the idea of Teeveeing.com, but looking for a provider with timeshift/recording and US local, Kiwi and Aussie stations. Maybe British, German, Swiss too.

It does UK and German, and you can schedule entire channels to be recorded (so time-shifted) as well as individual shows, but nothing for Antipodean audiences as yet.

Bit the bullet and got WizzTV based on a lot of the reviews here.  Kind of perplexed with everyone saying it doesn't freeze.  Lots of US channels were freezing like crazy last night so it's not much better than other streaming services I have tried to watch US channels on.

As far as the number of US channels, some people were saying it doesn't have a lot of US content but it does.  A few people said it doesn't have CNN US but it does.  Some were also saying it doesn't have a lot of US sports channels but it does. NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, it's all there.

The biggest problem I see with the US channels is that they seem to freeze a lot.  Some US movie channels were unwatchable last night.  Maybe it's just the UK channels that don't freeze much?  I watched F1 qualifying last night on the Sky sports F1 FHD channel and it was flawless.  I am in Thailand and have it set to use the Asia servers.  I tried switching to the EU servers but that made the US channels worse.  I haven't tried using the US servers yet.

I very rarely get any buffering on Wizz, but there are a couple of things you need to do to prevent it happening.

1. Make sure that you don't have a VPN running in the background, a VPN can sometimes dramatically slow down your internet speed, and cause buffering.

2. Regularly update the Wizz TV media contents.

3. Clear the Android box Cashed Data every few days.

When you get to the "Clear cached data?" page press  "OK" 5 times to fully clear the contents.

Also unplug the power cord on your internet Modem/Router , and reconnect it after a couple of minutes, about once a week, this helps with your internet speed.

Also, if you get problems watching in Full HD, you can watch the same channel in HD, that will use less data, and normally solves any buffering issues. Never had to drop down to the SD resolution.

I am not using a VPN and I did clear the cache.  I have another service that is still active and it wasn't buffering on some of the same channels, such as HBO.  It's the service that is buffering.  Again, this seemed to be a problem with US channels but not UK channels.  As I said, I was watching F1 FHD and it was flawless, so not my internet connection. No need to drop down to using HD or SD channels for that event.

Can I ask how you obtained wizz tv, forgive me guys I am a tech dinosaur since I retired, I understand some of what is posted and a lot has helped me onto the first rung of the ladder but I need to sort out decent viewing as I am here now as ex-pay (2 weeks) moving into my condo next week and my budget does not include going out every night so some "home entertainment" is going to be essential! (on my own  555). I will go back through the thread to see if the answers are there but unfortunately my memory retention suffers these days.

First, thank you for the box advice. Yes, Mecool 2KM Plus is a very good buy. I bought it on Lazada, but on the second try only, the first, cheaper, was going to take long time to arrive (there was a review about "great box, very slow seller). So, the second one was good. It cost me 2206 Baht, delivery fee included.

About Wizztv: yes, it was almost all. But, to be honest, i doubt i will renew the subscription in 2024. Reasons (some are important, some not so, but i consider all i feel, including my experience, these days):

1- Their help center (24 hours chat). I don't know if i have talked with only one guy, or more, but: i got replies in bad english (guys: english is not my native language, but even i can see the difference between "you're" and "your"!!), arrogant (saying i type "completely wrong" something, when i only thought it as a "g", instead of a "9"), making bad jokes about my difficulties, etc);

2- The set up can be a bit tricky, depending on what tv you have. In mine, LG, it was hard to locate the browser i had to use to set up the app;

3- Because i have had also some trouble about payment (but not their fault, this time), i had some time between i got the Android Box and WizzTv was ready, so i explored a bit more the box's potential. and, using KODI and some add-ons i was finding searching internet, i could see and use most of the channels i will use from now on: some from my country, some international news channels, some sports channels aswell. Even porn channels (sites) i have found, if i want to.

WizzTV has hundreds of channels, from Albania to US, from New Zealand to Canada, Fox News Locals (!!!), etc., etc, etc But...who really need them?! I would say 90% of these channels nobody will watch them.

Even about quality, i mean delay, "frozen" image, etc, i did not see so much difference: when i using KODI, i had some problems with that and i thought "well, with WizzTV these things won't happen", but they did: for example, last night, with WizzTV, i had the same problems watching the rugby match and today morning i have had even worst problems watching a new channel from my country.

Don't get me wrong, WizzTV is a good stuff, and i will use it from now on, more than KODI, but next year i am almost sure i will save those 2900 THB.

FWIW - I have not tried  the Wizz that is talked about here, but have fooled around with plenty of the other "cheap"  options - Kodi, typhoon tv, etc - all with firesticks.  I made a bit of a plunge this yr and bought an Nvidia Shield android box  that is programmed by local guy(Cdn).  While this is quite a bit more expensive than the other options I would say that it is a significant improvement in terms of less buffering and less other issues.

One of the things that I think make this better is in addition to the IPTVsmarters platform that is included it has Tivimate and this seems to be what I am using all the time.  Obviously, you still need good internet speed, but just got into Pattaya and seems no problem at hotel where I am currently at.

The cost on this was 5000b for programmed nvidia box and 1000b/month for the subscription and "local" support.  Support is by whatsapp and really have not needed in in the 2 months since I got this, but did try it enough early on to feel confident enough he knows what he is talking about.   As mentioned I know this is quite a jump in cost, but for me it would seem to be worth it.

Search Wizz tv on the internet. It's out of the UK. You'll need a debit card to pay.

Yikes!  If you are paying 5000b for setup + 1000b/month you are getting massively gouged.  A lot of the stuff you mentioned are just software apps that are easily installed on the hardware.  They are not a 'platform'.

"easily installed" sounds like some of what I was doing with downloader for some of the other things I tried and they really did not seen easy and/or work that well.  This works and is still a fraction of what it costs to get similar programming by Cable/sattellite companies in Canada.

I bought a MINIX box from Tukcom about 8 years ago. They cost about 4.5k baht now. I take it back to the shop every couple of years and the guy updates and apps on there although most seem to do that automatically when in use.
I also pay 380 baht a month for HDPrime. That gives me everything I want to watch (mainly sports and UK TV) and also has a 3 day catch up service for many of the channels.
The box and HDPrime also work just as well when I back in the UK so no need to subscribe to the expensive and limited services there.

You're sometimes buffering and freezing is totally normal anybody that tries to sell you an IPTV service I don't care whose it is or where it's from and they tell you that you will experience zero buffering and zero freezing is full of shit like a Christmas goose. There will always be a certain amount I have three different IPTV services. And for the most part they're fantastic but every now and then there will be an issue so I will have to switch to another one. If somebody tells you no buffering and no freezing I would say look for another provider one who's at least honest

I have to keep reminding myself its a job :GoldenSmile1:

You are not in Canada.  I think you can get a pretty good 100% legal cable package for what you are paying some Pattaya expat reselling an illegal streaming service to you at a massive markup.

I am in Canada for 6 months of the year and that is where I got this package - not some Pattaya expat reseller.  I have dealt with those in non-NA places in the past with very mixed results.  Since it is NA sports that I am most interested in it does matter to me that support is in NA times at the same time as there could be any problem that would be a problem for me.  As I said before there have been no problems with this package so far which makes it seem like money well spent.  FWIW - The nvida box is not even the cost of one half of one share in the company and it is up by multiples this year so it may pay to support them.

wizztv.co.uk

You subscribe what you want (i believe the cheapest choice is enough), pay with a debit card and they will send you a username and a password ans instructions to install it. If you have a Samsung or a LG tv, you will need one of 2 things: or another app/device (i forgot the name, but they will tell you. It will take some time and it is not free), or an android box (that was my case).

The box, you can buy at tukcom (south pattaya road) or through lazada (i did this way).

I am also a bit of a internet dinosaur, so please feel free to ask, we will be happy to help you

You might regret that offer of help, once I have settled into my condo and sussed the existing set up (I wasn't really impressed by the tv and picture quality), I might buy my own, followed by android box, I notice now Lazada its the Mecool KM6 mainly advertised, then enrol on Wizz tv. As I stated before I will not be out every night so "home entertainment" will be quite important.

I now have Wizz and, apart from the unnecessary SKY GLASS video, I am very satisfied. Thanks again for the recommendations here in the forum.

Unfortunately, the provider only has its app, which is of no use to me on my laptop. At my age, a phone is also far too small to watch a good match on the balcony. So I need a m3u file. Wizz doesn't offer that.

When searching the internet, a provider with the URL iptvstream.xyz:8080... and 37.49.225.197:8080... comes up from time to time. Unfortunately, the m3u only work for a few hours. However, I have not been able to find out who the provider is. The streams are very stable, and I would like to become a customer.

Does anyone have any ideas?

iptvstream is another service. Not my favorite but they're pretty good.

A bit of messing around, but you could mirror the screen from your mobile onto your laptop...

You can download Bluestacks https://www.bluestacks.com

Install it on your Laptop, open, go to App Player and load the SkyGlass APK file. You can then use SkyGlass on your laptop.

Wizz won't work on Apple TV, and there's no work around.
