A funny viewer comment from a YouTube video showing Kelce bumping Reid harshly.

"Imagine gronk doing that belicheck in a Super Bowl??? He would be benched on the spot."

Travis made unsuspecting Andy lose his balance and nearly stumble.

I was surprised by his disrespect to physically bump his head coach like that.

Doesn't look good for Travis.  Seems like maybe Travis is getting too arrogant from all the attention he's been attracting.

But it's human nature I guess. I myself have been arrogant when experiencing my rare and minor career successes.

I wonder how Reid will respond publicly.

It's a total non-issue. Football is a very emotional game and being in the SB magnifies that many times. Travis was just getting fired up, and Andy has been around long enough to know that.

Niners fan here - Congrats to the Chiefs, and Mahomes seems quite unbeatable in the games that matter. We had all thought that there can not be anyone quite like Brady, but Mahomes sure does seem to be going from strength to strength. He already has an insane amount of success for someone so young. Wished for Purdy's sake that the Niners could have pulled this one out, but it was not to be.

I think the Greenlaw injury was a big demise in the Niners defense

Agreed - an acquaintance (can't call him a friend, but we are "friendly") is a former NFL player who had a very long and solid career, including a Super Bowl ring.  His reaction on Twitter was that it was a non-issue.  He said you can tell Reid, Kelce and Mahomes have a relationship where they hold each other accountable and the "confrontation had no impact on the game.

If anything, I thought Kelce getting much more involved in the Chiefs' gameplan in the 2nd half was a big reason for their win.

That builds on @Greg_B's point, as there was press leading up to the game on how Greenlaw and Warner were keys to slowing down Kelce.

Well I've decided that my one bet that I'm going to place on the Super Bowl it's going to be one of the prop bets I'm betting Brock Purdy will rush for more than 13 and a half yards that's the over under number and I like him to exceed it. The bookmakers know what they're doing obviously but I think they got this one wrong time will tell

Oopsie !!! :Censored1:  :22600584-Th:

You should know by now the bookmakers very rarely "get it wrong".

And besides, you're not betting them.

You're betting someone else,,,,,,,,,,, who thinks YOU are wrong. :)

Think I've mentioned this before, but YEARS ago (before Internet sportsbooks were easily accessible), I had an "old fashioned" bookie.  I had 2 friends who wanted to place bets on the same game, and they were on opposite sides.  I took their bets (both $110 to win $100), never called the bookie and pocketed the $10 "vig."  Not a lot, but the easiest money I ever made!

The casinos here reportedly cleaned up on the Super Bowl - I'm 98% sure they said on the news it was the highest volume of betting and most money made by the casinos on any Super Bowl (to @sulu's point).

NOT blaming Taylor Swift, but the news story said the prop bet that made them the most money was whether Travis Kelce would score a TD, with a ton of money coming in on "yes."

In the Super Bowl, Purdy officially rushed for 12 yards, so I guess you lost.

In the last two Super Bowls, you could argue that Mahomes really won both games with key scrambles on critical downs.

Yeah, it seems like running quarterbacks don't win championships.

The career average rushing yards per game for 4 quarterbacks:

Lamar Jackson61.1 yards.

Patrick Mahomes20.2 yards

Brock Purdy:  6.3 yards.

Tom Brady:  3.4 yards.

My brother had no interest at all in watching NFL games, unless he was occasionally betting on a game.

Is betting the main reason for your NFL interest?

Just curious.

It was a record handle, but far from a record win. Here’s a list from the Review Journal link. Since 1991, the books have had only 2 losing years.

You're right -- despite the HUGE handle, win was only about 1/3 of that Seattle/Denver game. I guess that was a huge payout because of the wide margin of victory?

The sportsbook guys must describe that game like the way older guys describe Pattaya in the 1990s!  5555

GREAT article, BTW!

I expect anything in free agency, but to make a lopsided trade because you can't manage a salary cap is crazy.

Keenan Allen to my beloved Bears for a 4th round pick...? (That is a steal)

What are the Bears going to do with their No.1 pick?

My favorite one so far is Russell Wilson going to Pittsburgh, with Broncos paying him 37.8 million and the Steelers only paying him 1.2 million in 2024.

Yes, obvious now that they have traded Justin Fields to the Steelers.

I’d like to point out that I posted that before they traded Fields. 😘

The fact that they only got a 4th round pick for him shows what the league thinks he’s worth. Kinda sad. Really enjoyed watching him play.

As a Washington fan, I wish they had traded for Fields, and then picked up Marvin Harrison Jnr. with the No.2 pick.

These 1st round QB picks never seem to work out.

Or is the likes of Chris Simms correct, that this years draft is different?

It could be the strongest class of QBs ever, but any one player is never going to be a sure thing.

Can you win with Fields? Probably. Can you win BECAUSE OF him? Probably not. The Steelers are probably a good landing spot for him and I wish him well.

Fields is a good back up to Wilson who is likely to be great or awful

Steelers are dogs vs Cincy and Ravens which is not commonplace and it is time for them to come back

(And then there is the Brownies)

Chris Simms is awful

Many teams think they can draft another CJ Stroud who went #2

I am leaning towards, a hope we take Jayden Daniels now.
