Funny that you say salmon pizza.

That's the second course I got with my failed calamari dish.

I hadn't had the salmon one before but had tried others.

In this case the crispy cracker crust seemed even more crispy cracker than previous pizzas I've had there and toppings seemed wash out. The salmon didn't really taste of anything. It seems less cheesy. But pizza is still really subjective. 

I'm not sure they will necessarily fail just because some regulars are noticing negative changes in the food but it I were them I wouldn't be raising their prices.

It's really good to hear confirmation that it wasn't my imagination. Not sure I would be optimistic about it getting better if the new cook was trained already.

I've sent a message to the owner to let her know that her regular customers have noticed a change in the calimari since her cook left.

Inconsistency because of changes in the staff is the bugbear of small restaurants in Pattaya.  I certainly hope the new chef will get on track ASAP and produce the same quality of food as before.

I think they are baking the dough twice. First without ingredients and then with the stuff on.

Anyway, if it gets better again, I'd like to hear. 

I'll probably go again to see if the chicken parm is still good.

I had liked the Thai beef and greens dish which was really special the last time I had it, but I'm skeptical it's still going to be like that.

Damn. I really liked this place. I am back in mid-January for 4 months. I'll give it a try, just on past merit, but this does not sound good. Anybody know how the fish sandwich is these days. I really liked that.

I'm posting to see if it's a one off or if other people that like their calamari have the same experience.

Less and different flavor.

Even the fried garlic doesn't taste the same.

The calamari pieces inside the coating seemingly smaller and also a smaller portion overall, but I wouldn't be posting this at all if it was just about portion.

The calamari meat not succulent like before.

Perhaps it's just a matter of overcooking and/or something with the oil.

I would have never loved this dish if it was like this before.

I did tell the staff and they were cool about it. Not to complain but to let them know so maybe they could fix it.

So, I'm posting to see about other people's recent experiences and from now on.

Only if you had it recently and from now on. 

calamari is very hard to cook just right.  only a matter of seconds till it perfect or over cooked.  New guy can fuck it up easily.  I have seen many people get it and they all seem to like it.  hope thats just a one of,,,,,I always give a second chance before I avoid it

I am a bit worried.  I didnt go last night, skipped a meal as I was a bad boy in the daytime.  Someone I know went and came right back and said closed.  I hope thats a one of, I love that place

EDIT:  not sure what happened, maybe i misunderstood.   they sent a message back and said open as usual.

 

I just sent him a message and he said no, he came back right away cause he could not get a seat  555.   He did oreder a pizza to go and said awful.  hope they fix this

I didn't eat there last night, but I did see that it was open around 22:00.

Yes, I do think the pizza has declined based on my recent try, even though I didn't like their style much before either.

Usually I agree but it's a case by case and in this case unlike others I don't like most things on their menu but liked some things a lot.

Just been in to try it. Curious ...was your chicken breast flattened? I was expecting mine to be but it wasn't. Tasted good, but makes it harder to eat and everything just slides off the top. Not the best pic....

The name "salmon pizza" is a bit of a misnomer. It's smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers and a little chopped red onion on a baked flatbread.  Except for the shape, it's nothing like Italian-style pizza, but damn good if you like smoked salmon and cream cheese.

Yeah, I agree, it used to be great.

My last experience was nothing like that.

Ot, but anyway. Went to Bon au Pain on 2nd road...one bagel with cream cheese, salmon, capers and red onion...to Bodega..1,2,3 beers, all done in 1/2 hour, satisfied.

dont think it was flattened but at it with a knife and fork and a few days ago ordered it without the bread.  I doubt flattened normally

I went to White Pines last night and ordered the bruschetta and a krapao pizza. This was the first time I have been since the change in cook.


The bruchetta was not the same, though it was still good. The first difference was the bread was not cut as thick and it was not as toasted. Finally, it didn't seem the amount of toppings was the same. It was still good, but not as good as before.


The krapao pizza tasted like it did before, though I'm not sure of the crust is different. It seemed rather tough.
 

When I paid my bill, the LB service asked me my opinion especially compared to before. Further, she wonded why I did not oder the calamari as I normally do. I told her the reason was that I had heard it wasn't as good as before. She told me they had worked on it and it should be back to normal and would like my opinion on it the next time I come in.

Was in last night, a total shambles-some items stone cold.

Something has gone pare shaped in there, as it was always top notch, I have used this place a few times every month since it opened but I have had it now. Shame, great location too.
