It's good seeing Norwich City & Sheffield United promoted to the premiership next season.  Not sure who I want promoted with them.  I hope it will be WBA or Aston Villa or Derby County :D

Leeds United have a great chance after beating Derby away . Hoping for Leeds to win the promotion to the premiership.  I like their present in the premiership , makes the challenges all the more exciting.. Liverpool and City playing the final league  match today ... Both deserved to win the league with their high points .. Anything could happen in football like we saw at Anfield & Johan Cruyff Arena . A pity we will not see any results will have any effect on the bottom zone ..

Congratulations to Manchester City for a deserved premiership win , I take my hat off to Liverpool for a unbelievable second with a 97 points . 97 points bettered almost all of the history of the premiership champions except last year with City 100 points . Pep must be knackered by now with months of chasing with Liverpool ..

I know it’s the wrong thread but...

Many Congratulations to Newport County for reaching Wembley in the League 2 Play-offs.

Hope they get promoted.

Well the premiership season is over and it's been a hell of a season with Manchester City and Liverpool fighting it out for the title.  We've still got the FA Cup Final and the European finals to look forward to.  And I will be looking at the Championship play offs with interest.  There is one club I wouldn't like seeing getting promoted and that is Leeds United.  I remember them from the 70's and 80's and they were  a horrible club with horrible fans.  So I hope it's WBA or Villa or Derby County who get promoted

Really ?  Leeds United was a famous club in the 70s , admired their footballing days in the seventies under Don Revie , probably because TV were available mostly in the early seventies . Allan Clarke goal in the FA cup final to Arsenal , Peter Lormier disqualify goal against Bayern Munich in the final , Norman Hunter toughness , he would have had more red card if he had been playing now , Man United are the Leeds United most hated club  .. Hoping for Spurs to win the Champion  league cos my nephew follows spurs and naturally being a United fan ..

Hi Jocky don't get me wrong Leeds United had a spell when they were one of the top teams in the country.  They were challenging for trophies but they didnt endear themselves to football fans in general.  The club and the fans thought they were the best.  Towards the end of the 70's I started watching Everton all around the country.  And I watched them away from home through out the 80's and into the 90's.  This was a time when football hooliganism was bad in English football.  And Leeds has some of the worst football fans.  I'm a football fan and on match days  I'd rather meet other fans in a pub and have a chat about football while having a pint.  You couldnt do this when you played Leeds at there ground.  I went there by coach a few times and it was a regular occurance being chased back to the coach park by the leeds fans or even fight your way back to the coach park.  The police were useless.  One occasion I went to Leeds by soccer train from Liverpools Lime Street station.  Leeds train station was 3 miles from the ground.  Before the game no problem.  After the game we got a police escort back to the train station.  The police allowed the leeds fans to get amongst the Everton fans.  I and other Everton fans got kicked a few times on the way back to the train station.  The police didnt do anything unless any of the Everton fans turned around and fought back then the police would step in and stop the fighting.

So I have to admit I am not a fan of Leeds and hope they don't get promoted

Brighton have sacked Chris Hughton.

Very tough on him but they spent a lot of money last summer, for them, and had a very poor season. He did seem to have run out of ideas over the last couple of months.

How do both Swansea and cardiff fans view Newport County, you say hope they bet promoted and im quite sure you`re sincere, but if they were regular opponents and in the same division would you be as accommodating, or do you just want to see all Welsh clubs do well.:laugh:

Round where i live Halifax Town are patronized but thats merely because they arn`t a threat to us, Leeds, and Bradford city, (although in Bradfords case theres only one division now between them).

Detest Cardiff, obviously, but Newport are fine for most Swans fans I think. May have something to do with them going bust and then coming back. No idea how Cardiff view them. On a personal note, I had a good friend from Newport who was a big County fan so always look to see how they’re doing in his memory.

Quite a bit of animus between Swansea and Bristol City fans though.

Hi davidge I see Newport will be playing Tranmere Rovers in the play-off final.  As Tranmere are local to me I will be supporting them in the final.  May the best team win

Breaking: Madrid police have raised concerns that Tottenham fans may take flares to the stadium on June 1st. Because that's what they wore the last time they were in a European final.

And I guess that  you will be supporting Liverpool in the final as they are local to you as well .. Mike Dean ( Ref ) is a Tranmere supporter, celebrated recently with the crowd .

I'll let you guess who I am supporting in the Champions League Final.  I'll give you a clue it's going to be an English team :D
