If I might expand a little bit; the boxes are small, low power boxes to go between your Internet connection and your television set. They depend on the television being connected for a video display. Could you do the same thing with a laptop or desktop computer? Sure. But not with such a compact size, or low power consumption. They are also usually fanless, so there is no fan noise when operating. 

Personally, I have a nice laptop, and desktop. I still bought one of the boxes for the television. They are inexpensive and do an excellent job of what they are designed to do; access file (movies and television) content stored locally or online, and convert that Internet or LAN content to an HDMI signal that can be displayed on your television.

Are the boxes dual voltage, good for both 110 and 220?

I was thinking about getting one if it works both in the USA and SEA.

Does it come with the USA broadcast of the ESPN channels, FS1, NFL, NBA, MLB and college networks like the Big Ten, SEC and Pac 12.

I arrive in Pattaya later this month.

I am now curious and interested as I once lived USA for over 4 years and used to enjoy the college football going to live Huskies games.  Are these available in Australia?

Yes you can watch afl and yes works in aussie  via tv not pc   75% of our customers are Australian ,all the channels which are loaded can be watched in Aussie

I just had my old Minix box updated, very happy with the result. 500 well spent. My only complaint is that some of the FTMC channels don't work and CNN has no sound. Fortunately, CNN is on several other apps in the box anyway. Some of the channels, especially Australian channel 7 appear to be geo blocked and probably require a vpn.
