MAYWEATHER VS. PACQIUAO

I think Floyd will outbox him Manny had nightmares all 4 times with Marquez and Mayweather is 10 times the counter puncher Marquez is and Also Floyd is a defensive master so think he wins by unanimous decision. But i would really like Manny to cause the upset as imo he is the better human being so i'm rooting for him to do it.

I think that Mayweather thrives on the hate he gets from some fans...it makes him fight harder!

From footypjman,   Where to Watch the Fight

I believe others have suggested that they intend to watch at Chik N Coop.  Coop is a great host.

I watched Cotto vs Martinez at I Rovers while I enjoyed a nice breakfast, and I;m sure they'll have it on.

In fact, I would assume that any bar with a good "sports package" will be piping this one in.  Many complain that it's 5 years too late, but it's still the most talked about fight that I can remember.

I think the fight will go into the ring around 9 p.m. in Las Vegas.  The general rule in boxing is that they try to get the main event into the ring before midnight on the East Coast, although they have failed to do so more and more lately.  There are only 2 undercard bouts, but there will be some fairly long backstories/features on both fighters.

In any event, 9 p.m. in Las Vegas is 11 a.m. in Pattaya.  If I were in Pattaya, I would be seated wherever I planned to watch it well before then.

The screen isn't to big there but Coop is a great guy.  I'd like to support him.  Nice San Diego boy, former USN.

If I am in Patts that's where I will be.

"The heart of a lion" will help, but not a substitute for a good side step jab and combination.   :Think1:

Do you mean you'll be able to watch the fight for FREE?!  If so, that's GREAT!  Looks like I'll have to pay $100. to watch it on Pay Per View in the states.

I think it goes back to a quote attributed to Ali -- he was credited with saying something like "I don't care if they're buying a ticket because they want me to win or they want me to lose....as long as they're buying a ticket!"

Mayweather does have a pretty loyal group of passionate fans, but it seems more people dislike than like him.

I would expect the final fight on the TV undercard (and entire undercard) to be announced soon.

There are 2 TV undercard bouts + Mayweather/Pacquaio.  One has already been announced as Vasyl Lomachnenko vs Gamalier Rodriguez (defense of Lomachnenko's WBO featherweight title).  The third fight will be selected by -- and feature fighters with -- Mayweather Promotions.

Lomachnenko is an VERY talented fighter -- his pro debut was a 10 round fight vs a fighter who was 25-3; his 2nd was a World title fight, in which he lost split decision to Salido; he came back to win vacant WBO title in his 3rd pro fight.  He is one of the best amateur boxers ever, as he racked up an amazing 396-1 record (and he avenged that lone loss....twice! LOL)

This is a fight where you need to find at least 2 or 3 friends to come over and kick in!

I agree....either that (or in the states) often a theatre is booked that buys rights to the event...charging about $25. to enter.

Unfortunately, I think the theaters will bump this one up to $40+.  I think they're expecting to do a TON of closed circuit in Las Vegas -- people are flocking to won, paying premium prices for rooms and tickets either aren't going to be available OR are going to cost an arm and a leg on the secondary (i.e. scalped) market.

Had a friend that did a recent PPV in a theater and he really enjoyed it.

Chik N Coop is on 2nd Road not far past Mikes Mall on the East opposite side of the street.  It's a small sign in with a group of bars there.  Definitely always a good and friendly vibe there...

I'm pulling hard for Manny but I think he might have trouble finding Floyd.  I'm afraid Floyd will win in a snoozer of a fight.  I really hope I'm wrong.  Boxing need a great fight.

I see that The BBC will charge 25 GBP for the Pay Per View...the most they've ever charged.  Pay Per View in America will cost 100 USD.

I am in the Philippines right now, and saw on Twitter that the fight is going to cost 2000 pesos here (about $45 USD)

I also read that the Pacquiao/Algieri fight was only 750 pesos (about $16 USD)

I don't know how bars here will be handling it (I'll be long gone, as I'm only here until Sunday)

Yes, they're charging more than ever in USA, UK, PI or wherever. Of course, we here in the USA always pay the most. No big deal to me. A typical PPV here might run around $85 after taxes and fees. I split it with a couple of of my boxing buddies and it's less than $30 a piece. For this one, plenty of people are interested, even those who know jack shit about boxing. Some other friends will join us and the cost will end up being less than $20 each. Oh, and after this flight, boxing goes back under the radar again. This is not the start of some big comeback in the sport, although I am curious to see how the current Haymon 'PBC' experiment works out.

I do not believe that manny is the fighter he once was, if this fight had taken place 5 years ago I would have been interested. Right now it is but another display of FMj business acumen and the desperation of Manny in his current financial position. IMO FM has already won this fight and we are now merely waiting for the 'judges' to confirm it.  I would so like to be wrong but doubt that will be the case.
