Hey wait a minute.. I know that place!  Right near Soi Buakaow on Pattaya center road!

I had a kickass meal or two there...  smoked duck salad (holy shit do they do a good duck!), some other nonsense, fried morning glory, some shrimp and seafood dish... Good times!

And worth an extra 20baht to sit in the air-con ^_^

what kind of salad dressing is it on smoked duck salad?

You know, I really couldn't tell you.. it was something mayonnaise-y...  It was kind of good, but didn't really add much.  A little gross to be honest.. but oh boy was that duck good.  Are you supposed to eat that strip of fat on the top?

Because I ate the hell out of the whole thing :D

I had a midnight supper of roast duck and steamed rice at Leng Kee Restaurant near the corner of Soi Bukhao and Pattaya Klang. Although Leng Kee has over 1,100 Thai and Chinese dishes listed on its menu, a medium order of roast duck at 200 baht was enough for me. The steamed rice was 10 baht and a SML was 60 baht.

The duck was perfectly cooked and very succulent.

It was served in a delicious sauce and came with pickled ginger, a few greens and a super spicy dipping sauce. One tiny drop of that sauce just about burned a hole in my tongue.

I've eaten at Leng Kee a number of times and the meals there have always been good. However, the other dishes, whether Chinese or Thai, haven't "wowwed" me. It's the duck that keeps me coming back. I consider it the best I've had in Pattaya at a modestly priced restaurant.

Besides the great duck, I like the fact Leng Kee is open 24 hours a day and is very clean. I also appreciate that many dishes come in three sizes (small, medium, large) at 80/200/350 or 400 baht. The service is prompt and correct, but the waiters can at times seem a bit surly. That's understandable, as I've witnessed some foreign tourists giving them a really hard time.

Bottom line: An excellent place to go for duck, good for other Chinese and Thai dishes.

Now who's going to be the first one to say you can get better duck at a cheaper price elsewhere?

There's more than  roast duck that's good at Leng Kee.  On Saturday afternoon, I stopped by for a quick meal.  The dishes themselves were pretty much Thai standards, but excellently done.  I had  an order of the deep-fried crab cakes with dipping sauces (150 baht):

and the stir-fried rice noodles with chicken and vegetables (80 baht):

I was happy to get a large bottle of SML, fairly rare in Pattaya.  It had been recently brewed, too.

There was nothing elaborate about the two dishes I ordered, but they tasted delicious.   They had been expertly prepared and cooked

Total cost of the meal, including the large SML, was 340 baht.

The front section of the restaurant only had a handful of guests, but the enclosed air-conditioned room that specializes in Chinese food was full with a group of Asian tourists who kept them busy.

I ordered two duck dishes on my last trip after reading older reviews. It was good but I didn't get them "Roasted". One dish was like deep fried pieces of duck and the other was braised or something and each bite size piece was on the bone. Was good and all but I need to figure out how to say "Roasted" in Thai.

I am pretty sure it's the one refered to at the front of the menu in the 'Specials' section.  Guessing based on the original review stating a medium serve, it has small, medium, and large serve as indicated by the prices.  It wasn't as good as I had hoped and not like the OP's photos .  Saying that, it was OK and fark me, they were packed solid tonight.  Some sort of buffet style thing happening out the front, no seats in the AC section at all, complete bedlam (but that's Pattaya all over :) ) but the service was fast.

Leng Kee is my favourite restaurant in Pattaya.

The combination of low price and good quality is hard to beat.

It's also on my clean food list - never got the runs there :)

That is canard à l’ orange, also good, but not Chinese roasted duck.

Correct. Chinese or Peking duck has spices and condiments stuffed in the cavity and is bathed in a boiling mixture to tighten the skin then hung to dry overnight. The drying process is what gives it the red appeaarence when roasted. The authentic version of this has one more process. Air is pumped into the neck cavity to seperate the skin from the body of the duck then hung. This gives you a super crispy, tasty skin. This is our 'Peking duck' but without the last process I mentioned. Great in curries or served on it's own with plum or orange sauce.

How do I get there from say Soi Honey ? Walkable ?

Yes,  come up to Soi Baowkao turn left and and walk till you reach Pattaya Klang and then turn left and you are at Leng Kee.

At present they will have a row of food pots outside as it is 10 days  celebration of vegetarian food
