Can't see the fans or the players being happy with Rodgers lineup. I'd be pretty pissed off going to Madrid only to find out the best players were dropped to the bench.

Think you will probably find most were happy with it and would want more or less the same side to start v Chelsea. I'd change Lucas/Allen for Hendo and Markovich for Sterling.

A bad night for Manchester City who lost to Moscow 1-2 , they had their two players send off and should have send the Moscow player off too but gave a yellow card to the wrong player. . Manchester City will need to win two remaining matches to qualify , they have a chance because Bayern Munich is already qualified as a group winner . They will put out a second team to play City , then go to Roma to get another win, difficult but doable . Chelsea drew away to Maribor , but they have a good chance to qualify .

What a turnaround for City, Aguero carrying them through both in EPL & UCL, Bayern with 10 men were actually more in control, but the errors cost them bad. Chelsea look the unstoppable force in Europe also, even Drogba is getting the odd goal

City will have to beat Roma in Rome . Will be tough .

Liverpool got a draw 2-2 , thinks they have a good chance to beat Basel at Anfield , 9/12/14. Arsenal qualified to the knockout group with a 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund .

Probably you,re right , as many footballers say , Anfield is a difficult ground to play against because of the crowd , it is 11 against the 12 . .

If Liverpool don't beat Basel I think they will finish 3rd in there group and end up playing in the Europa Cup.  If that happened it would be strange if they got drawn against Everton in the knock-out stages

Anyway because Everton won last night they will finish top of there group.  Which means they will not be drawn against other group winners and teams that finished 3rd in there champions league group in the fist round of knock-out games

Big game for Liverpool tonight, must win to qualify for the knock-outs, also a very good game between Juventus & Athletico Madrid. Arsenal & Dortmund playing their group rivals to determine who tops the group.

think Monaco should take care of zenith and Leverkusen  should win,dortmund or not the same team this term could a young Anderlecht team cause a surprise.

Gotta applaud Liverpool , they nearly fought back to beat Basel with only ten men , with 1-0 down , The player was unfairly send off for a slight fingertip on opponent face . The last 15 minutes was electrifying football . Hard Luck Liverpool.

I would not call it hard luck- they were poor for the majority of the game and Basel are an experienced team who have a recent favourable record against English teams e.g. Chelsea and Spurs.

 

Over the 6 group games they have been poor and did not deserve to qualify. Scoring only 5 goals amd playing half a team away to Madrid resulted in a Europa league place.

 

Liverpool will not play champions league footy for years to come as they will be unable to finish above city, United arsenal and Chelsea.
