West Ham 0-2 Arsenal

 

A late Emmanuel Adebayor strike and a Julien Faubert own goal at Upton Park inflicted a third successive Premier League defeat on West Ham.

 

Theo Walcott and Robin van Persie both hit the post before substitute Adebayor's scuffed shot was directed beyond Robert Green via Faubert.

 

In injury time, Adebayor ran from the centre circle to finish a delightful Nicklas Bendtner cross-field pass.

 

And West Ham striker Carlton Cole was then sent off for a foul on Alex Song.

Arsenal seem to have press the self destruction button and is now in pieces after the shambles in midweek against Spurs and with quite a few injuries & RVP getting sent off today will now miss the big game next weekend against Man United.

This goes back to my earlier posts on this thread. We need fresh, experienced blood. Yes, on our day we play the best footy in the Prem, but that will not win titles. Stoke have beaten both Spurs and Arsenal now - by the same score. Arsenal should be able to grind out results -ie: WINS- against the likes of Fulham, Spurs and Stoke, wherever we play them. Hull was an exception - they've banged in 3 goals at Old Trafford and there's not many teams that will do that and still be on the losing side.

 

With RVP out for 3 matches including the big one v ManUre after getting sent off, and with Adebayor and Walcott injured, in my view the squad will be too thin to handle the strain. Wenger needs to splash some cash in January and buy those 3-4 quality players he should have bought in the summer.

Yep the Gunners will need some fresh blood in the new year, as I always say its all good and well playing sexy passing football but it don't win you trophies, As for Hull they played well and we got a bit complacent and they bashed in 2 goal which will flatter them but in saying that we could have had 10-11 goals.

Sounds like a good game (listened to part of it on the radio.) Will check it out on TV tonight. Liverpool are looking good at the moment - I'm hoping they turn Spurs over big time !
