I just watched him fight macklin last weekend,

Technically superb and looks like a tough bastard!!!

At least Kazakhstan will be known for something better than borat!

There is talk that Golovkin might fight Carl Froch.

http://news.boxrec.com/news/2013/golovkin-v-froch-would-be-epic-says-hearn

This would be huge outdoor in Carl's home town of Nottingham.

this could be the return of a true fighter genre  no duckning and diving matches like our nigel ben who ducked no one.

They did until Steve Collins beat both of them twice each

Golovkin is 179cm tall, which probably means he is tall enough to go up to super-middleweight with no problem. His KO% is 88.89%, at the moment, the highest ever recorded apparently.

Froch is 185cm tall by the way, and his KO%, 66.67.

If the fight take place I intend to be there.

To get back almost on thread, Hearns vs Hagler was indeed ferocious. It was however in 1985. Marvin won by TKO after three tremendous rounds.  Not all people click on links, but the above one provided by BM Dukemoreau is well worth watching..

Some REALLY great fights mentioned in here -- Hagler/Hearns is probably my favorite of all time; Gatti/Ward I was unreal; Pryor/Arguello was amazing, but it has the stigma of Panama Lewis' "special" water bottle; Benn/McClellan was great, but is marred by what happened to McClellan (knowing how McClellan turned out, I haven't been able to watch it again).

Best ones that I have personally been to probably were Corrales/Castillo I and Rios/Alvarado I.  I was also at the very first Pacquiao/Marquez fight, which was one Hell of a fight, and I had the best seat in the house (I was sitting directly in FRONT of Bob Arum!  LOL)

Golovkin has a LOT of people excited -- he appears to be a beast at 160.  Knocking out guys is one thing; going through a fighter as tough as Macklin as easily as he did is quite another thing altogether.  I love the fact that they plan to keep him busy, and to have him fight in Europe and the U.S. (not just one or the other).

Moving up to face Froch at Super MW would be a huge test, but I think they will keep him at MW for at least a few more fights.  I think they would like to get Sergio Martinez, but he's out until next year due to injuries, and -- despite Sergio's recent statements that he fine with facing Golovkin -- I think he's best served avoiding that fight if he can.  Martinez is slowing down and is having more and more physical issues.  Father Time is undefeated and is coming on strong vs Martinez these days....

I don't think Don Curry ever fought Nigel Benn. Curry was a welterweight until late in his career, whilst Nigel fought at Super MW. Lloyd Honeyghan forced Curry to retire after 6 rounds in 1986, when Curry was undefeated at 25-0. It was for the unanimous world welterweight title (all 3 belts) and was the upset of the year as Don was being talked of a future all time great. He was never the same fighter again. He had 40 fights in total with 6 defeats (5 KO's). He had a suspect chin it seems.

The whole fight is on Youtube. It is in four parts. This is Part 4.

Lloyd is now on the after-dinner speech circuit. He is excellent and very personable. He seems to be well fixed financially, unlike most ex-boxers.
