The best moped or scooter

Might try the Yam Nouvo SX as is 125cc same as old PCX which was a smooth ride but bit on the bulky side for manouvering in narrow sois and traffic.

As long as double shocks and decent under seat storage that will do and is more reasonably priced than the PCX, although still a big Honda fan!!

Anyone any news and reviews of the latest auto scoots?

These look kind of funky. Not ridden one but they were quite popular in Phuket. A lot of the rental shops were stocking them and only them. Horses for courses but I quite like the look and they look comfy. And importantly they are a Honda. Anyone have one?

ps - not my photo

I would recommend the Nouvo.

Main reason being the underseat storage. Sounds funny but i use quite an expensive Harley Davidson DOT half helmet and it fits easily under the seat for better security. In fact i have fitted 2 x helmets under the seat.

My TGF has a new click and you can't fit nowhere near as much stuff under the seat as you can on the Nouvo.

Also hated the PCX steering, it felt very remote and wrong.

Vespa forever.

Build in Vietnam(the imported one from italy is so expensive)  i was scared of the quality.

then i try one just out of curiosity and i was so happy to own it now.

the price look high compared to the jap scooter( 99k for the 125cc model).

Cheers

Help needed as I am a complete novice when it comes to Scooters etc...

Have someone who is selling there 2008/09 Yamaha Fino 17,000 ks on the clock, wants 20,000 baht

Bike is for my GF.

Have heard that Yamaha are more expensive to repair and maintain than a Honda ?? ( like the look of the Clicks) any other problems with Yamaha Scooters in general?

Any help would be appreciated..

Cheers

20k for a Fino seems about "ball park".

Yamaha's do have a reputation for failing gearbox bearings more than other makes. If it makes a terrible screeching noise then its going/gone. Other than that, still a good buy and very popular.

My Hayate is 2 years old and has done about 16000km. Mityon here in Pattaya offered me THB 25,000 on a trade in for a new Hayate (THB 50k) the other day, so I think they hold their price as good as any similar bike (in Pattaya).

Have taken it up to Buriram (900 km round trip) and back on a number of occasions with no problem , cruising nicely at 90kph (1up),  had115kph out of it, and appreciating the dual shock absorbers.

The only issue I've had is getting new inner tubes when I have a puncture. Not easy in the village in Issan, so now take on with me, and a couple of times places here in Patts have tried to put a smaller tube in. I didn't spot it the first time, it only came to light when I had another puncture within a couple of days.

GF dropped it and I had to get a couple of new panels and two places where able to obtain them within 24hours.

Other than that, I've been very happy with the Hayate.

Live for the moment. Tomorrow may not come.

Had my honda click 125i now for nearly 2yrs.  Its been a very good bike but soon I think I will part x for a Honda PCX - just a better overall bike in my opinion.

I will always buy Honda in Thailand due to the amount of spare parts available.

Everybody has their own values and preferences and also needs.  Part of what determines the best mode of locomotion is prior experience.  I have ridden many of the motorbikes mentioned and really, they all fit the bill in a general way.  They are easy to ride, cheap overall and get you where you want to go.

A few months ago, I purchased a new Honda PCX150.  I like it a lot and for me, it is much more stable in traffic and at speed, especially with  passenger than smaller models such as the Click, Wave and Nuovo.  It is easier for me to maneuver in traffic than  smaller motorbike and has never felt too big.

Some of my riding is at higher than city speeds, 80 to 100 km/hr and it is very stable.

Granted, it costs more to purchase and is not so fuel efficient than some smaller motorbikes.  But I plan to keep it for some time so the money is not too big of a thing.

Another thing I found is that my Thai lady is very comfortable on the PCX in spite of her initial observation that it looked big.

Couple of weeks ago, I got a new Honda CRF250M.  This is where personal experience comes in.  I REALLY love riding this bike.  I can get in and out of traffic in the city easy and it is a blast to ride on more open stretches.  But then, I have been riding real motorcycles for almost 50 years and many actions like shifting and weight shift and counter-steering are just  natural and happen subconsciously.  It is definitely possible to get into trouble with a bigger bike though.

A lot depends on whether you are using a motorbike or motorcycle to get from point A to point B  --  or ride for enjoyment of riding.

Yamaha SX has a Barcelona and Real Madrid football theme bike on offer

They also brought out a Blue Special Edition bike, I could not see any difference apart from colour scheme

I bought a Nouvo SX about 3 weeks ago. Only done 200 km so far. The bike is great for my purposes as I generally stay in Chonburi. Occasionally go down to Rayong to visit Koh Samet for the day. Or, going to the tiger zoo, etc. The only complaint I would have is the small gas tank. Another 1.5 litre and the bike would be perfect. The mods I will do when I return to Thailand is rear gas shocks and perhaps a better seat. Oh yes, one definite thing will be a rack for the back and not a top box. Makes it easier to put a case of beer on the back from Makro when restocking the fridge.

I have had a click in the past. Which got stolen from Jomtiem Beach Road. Reported it to the Police and the officer shown me a wad of report papers for bikes stolen that day. So will be investing in a decent lock that will go through the rear wheel and around the seat. So if the thieves see it they will leave mine alone and come and steal yours.

Had no complaints with the click. For a workhorse I would go with the click. The Nouvo for me is to get around for shopping, etc, and getting to out of the way places such as Buddha hill and surrounding area's.

Only new PCX-150! This one have a bigger gas tank than old models. Last year I traveled from Pattaya to Sihanoukville on  PCX-150 (2013), it's about 600 km... Damn, it is so tiring to fill bike almost every hour :) Try the new one, it's big enough to feel  safely on the road.

Found this raider on baht sold. Wish I was an expat already. But would still get a pcx and a honda crf250.

They are a bit specialist, but for anyone who wants one that is very cheap at 24,000 less than new price and only 10 months old.

I would totally recommend Kawasaki KSR 110 PRO. It has same displacement as scooter and it looks awesome. Check it out.

Great bike if you are a short arse, but if like me nearly 6ft and 15 stone, you would look like a twat on one.

I thought they were for 16 year-old spotty youths from the local Tech College.
