No internal storage in the media player, you have to purchase a Hard drive to slot in!! To copy 1 2tb disk takes approx one day...

I will be in Pattaya in March, along with my laptop & 1.5TB external HD. I am interested in buying the movies only; just a couple of questions:

 

1. Can you mix & match the movies from different lists with this option? I already have some from each list & some are a bit naff.

 

2. How powerful does my laptop have to be to play these HD movies? I have a 5 year old Acer with 512MB RAM, although it has a Radeon X700 GC in it, which was high spec at the time. It plays DVDs smoothly for example.

Most media players in your laptop/pc will play MKV files if not just download VLC Media player for free! If you want to choose different movies from different list's it's gonna cost a little extra 1250baht (due to the extra work involved).

I migh get one from you in August if your not in the monkey house by then looking at picking different films from the lists you have, have you got a pic of the hard drive, just want to check if it's the same one I have, how many movies will it hold as I have a 2TB hd and I have so far 230 with over 700 gb free, my movies are 1080P with AC3 or DTS sound and only english audio with no subtitles the reason for this is to keep the films to a low file size, most film I have are between 4 - 8 GB including 3D movies, I take it as you offer Thai audio and subtitles the files must be quite big ?

It's a WD Caviar Green WD20EARS 2TB, about 160-180 films on a 2TB Hard drive (most films are 8gb min some go upto 16gb).

Subtitles are very small files and can be added to most movies where available. Blu-ray seems to take up large amount of space. I am not sure about being dubbed in thai or if it is even offered...

The only program you would need to play them is VLC found at videolan.org (plays almost any video format for any os without any additional downloads)

Alternatively Hitachi 3Tb drives could be useful.

Personally I would throw the moovs on a Raid 6 server for wireless delivery & Cav Blacks would be far more useful for me than Greens

Jami you can use VLC sure but for Apple TV, iTunes etc I rerip MKVs down to .m4v files and can keep the quality very high but file size sometimes .3-.5 of the mkv file size and still keep the 1080p
