Yes and if you remember correctly TPC gained a few new BM's or at least some new posters when PA was down lol

But at least we might get to find out WTF is going on, lets hope that a TPC BM in the know posts what the problem is.

As far as I see it P-A and TPC are two peas in a pod.
A large number of people are members of both and post on both.
Kinda like two businesses of the same kind attracts customers for each other and the sum of the two is greater than two times any one.

I know that was a joke, but FYI cambodiaclub.com was acquired more than two years and is hosted on a completely different server as is TPC and it redirects to an escort service. thecambodiaclub.com is still available.

Not the same server, but servers by the same company and in the same physical location and nearly the same IP address: 69.72.244.43 vs. 69.72.244.44

Had all the Pattaya Club people in town in my bar last night. Even the mods of the forum have no idea what's going on and received no notice of any maintenance.

 

All the forum guys in town are in my Friends of Le Pub group on line and can be contacted there.

At least they finally got smart and put up an info page to let people know they're doing an upgrade. Now the stone throwing can start as we now know it's not a server issue. Just another fucked up upgrade. You'd think they would have learned from the problems PA had doing their upgrade.

  This is either the tech screwup to end all screwups or else they have no plans of bring the forum back.    The latter may make the most sense.  It's likely just a burden and not a cost they can justify.

  Without question however is that the lack of any official word on this has been bad for their reputation.   It costs nothing to get the word out no matter what their decision is.

That notification doesn't say anything about the forum.  Will it be included or not.

 

Typically a company does not update a live website like this.

Instead they build the new website on a private server and when it's ready they announce they their web site will be down for a hour or so at at certain time and and that time they copy the new website into place.  The downtime is minimal and when it comes up it's working right away.

If they are indeed upgrading the forum they should try it first with a copy on a private server and work through all of the problems (and we know from PA's experience that there will be problems).   Only when it's working on the private server should they put it into place (with fair warning to the users of the downtime anticipated for copying files).

I know that good help is hard to find but this is just crazy.

My understanding from the text is that its referring to the website and the forum but what do i know lol

It was explained to me by someone in the know that they were indeed updating the forum and they had run into problems, now there's a surprise ehh.
