Johnny's 100 baht or less food tour

So since I'm here till the end of February I'm trying to eat somewhat locally. I've always been a burgers/fries and meat/potatoes kind of guy but figure maybe my fat ass will lose some weight if I change my diet. Also trying to keep the food costs down so I can spend it on other activities. But to be completely honest I'm just fucking cheap and figure if I'm in Thailand I should be able to eat cheaply.

Obviously there's great food at reasonable prices above 100 baht and while I'll indulge from time to time I'll just be mentioning the 100 baht or less meals here.

Feel free to add any of your own finds here with location.

50 Baht

At the back of the Night Bazaar just located south of Central Mall on 2nd road. Note you gotta run the gauntlet of sellers inside to make you way down there.

Decent portion of sliced chicken of a whole roast bird. Cucumber. Rice. Some sort of weird soup. Has a unique taste but usually only drink about 25%. Chilli sauce. I usually just mix in into the rice and chicken. Very good.

Market on 2nd road about 100m south of Soi 6. Just Infront of hotel Tropicana back entrance, and across from Centric Sea.

BBQ chicken breast and wing. Precooked and reheated upon purchase. Chicken was tender and delicious. Some salad trimmings. Some chilli sauce included but did not try.

Market about 200m south of Soi 6 on Beach Road. I think it's around the emerald condominiums.

Brown rice with green onions, lettuce, tomatoes and 3 prawns. Very good. Came with chilli sauce but did not try.

At the back of the Night Bazaar just located south of Central Mall on 2nd road.

Two types of pork. Tender and juicy slices and crispy pieces. Crispy pieces were very crunchy. Came with a sweet chilli sauce. Includes rice. Also came with a half egg and cucumber. Same soup was included. A soy sauce was also included but did not try.

Go for the fresh cooked stuff mate. There's a few stalls in the food court that leave their dishes out in big pans out all day, I've got a strong stomach but I managed to get the shits off one of the dishes that are left out all day. The shit was literally illuminous green I was so scared I took a trip to the doctors. I don't want to spoil a lovely food thread but I can upload a picture of this shit that I had as a warning to fellow Thai food eaters if you want?

Yes just ask them to bag it up for you for takeaway I used to do it myself, store it in the fridge and eat it cold when I'm rotten drunk at 5am. Beautiful

Ya I've been pretty careful. Either its hot or reheated food. I'm hesitant on the Moto vendors. I always look for a stall that has access to water. Figure it's likely to be more hygenic.

Liking this thread. I like asian food, street food, cheap food and thus Thailand is like food porn to me. Excellent quality. I also liked the tin pot restaurant, can't remember name of street. And kiss food. Maybe slightly more expensive but freshly cooked. Can't wait to be dining in heaven again in two weeks time. And then getting my rocks off a few minutes later haha.

7-11 has tons of really good Thai food for really cheap. I discovered this last trip and ate there at least once a day.

From the moment you arrive in Thailand good food everywhere so long as you keep any eye for busy places where the locals eat and avoid farang food joints.

Even at BKK airport good local food can be found at Thai prices.

Thats good to know we always associate airports with overpriced food and drink but not so here,i can imagine lots of travellers dont even know it exists,i certainly didnt!

So true with international airports. The expectation of high prices is the norm.

Even more surprising at BKK, down one more floor, is the Airport Rail Link into Bangkok with no heafty airport surcharges and money changers providing some of the best foreign exchange rates in Thailand.
