Under 300 Baht ... And Good! (updated for 2024)

I just had this at Witherspoons Saturday special. (sorry forgot to take a pic) but was really tasty and good value, probably slightly more than half a rack.

American Bar & Grill on Soi Lengkee has its own thread here, so I'll be brief here.  It has many dishes under 300 baht and the reports so far have been good.  From the restaurant's Facebook page:

Had the munchies in the Bongkot area and tried the Wednesday Special Chicken Parmigiana at Nadia's. It was probably the best chicken parm I've had in Pattaya that I can remember. Nice layer of cheese over a red sauce, big piece of chicken with a really nice crust. I was a bit confused about beef gravy on the side, but ended up dipping the fries in it which was tasty.

My GF like the lasagna that's made by New York Pizza company and she hates Pizza.

It's a nice sized dish in a loaf pan for 195 baht. They call it penne lasagna because it's not made with lasagna noodles but penne pasta. But otherwise it's a fairly traditional lasagna with sauce and cheese and meat baked as a casserole.

I just sit back and relax - I've earned it.

Also just remembered, @dragonrider is a fan of good lasagna. Perhaps he could point you in the right direction.

Nicky's on S. Soi Buakhao, large and very good, IMO enough for two. My notes says I paid 340 baht so that may of been with a beer,  or perhaps just a water.

My notes also say don't order Lasagna from Chill Inn nor Witherspoons again.

Best lasagna I have had in Pattaya  and I have tried loads is at Rinapp Ristorante soi 13/1 central Pattaya .

All Fresh homemade ingredients about 300 baht but a very generous portion and loads of cheese

Frankie’s Inn in Jomtien is an Italian restaurant that ranks in my TOP 5 for Pattaya.  My Thai girlfriend was impressed by the traditional lasagna.

Every dish is top shelf. Packed and busy every night, one of my requirements to recommend a great restaurant.

I think the lasagna at What's Up Doc is pretty good.

I was surprised that I didn't much like the lasagna at Oregano at Rompho Market Jomtien as I like everything else I've had on their menu.

Hi all,

Thanks for the tips, shall look into them all over the coming weeks.

Thought I would share my experience last couple of nights looking for some :)

Tuesday night we went to Nicky's.... Been past that place a million times and thought it was just a bar.. :D

We ordered the lasagna, and I am partial Lamb's Fry and Bacon, which I have been having at The Ferret (?) and really nice.

Anyway, the Liver came out first and I was very disappointed

20240207_1946331.thumb.jpg.ab6d33fad78bde0af1d8d15634dd18a9.jpg

After I dug through the bacon I could see much in the way of liver....

20240207_1948491.thumb.jpg.ae5e4645fb67b1a8cbb58ea322c0a33b.jpg

And there is was 5 little chunks ..... and a giant hair...

I was not going to eat this... The Waitress spoke to a Lady, I guess she is the owner, older English Woman...

The plate had already gone back to the kitchen when she came over.... I explained to her there was very little liver... She came back with the plate with more liver chunks..... She then explained the liver came frozen in chunks like that... I said there were more on there than before and showed her the photo...

She asked if I wanted a new plate, i declined.

The Lasagna came out and although smaller than expected it was delicious and I made a point of telling them that. In fact, whenever I get a good meal, I make a point of letting the cooks know. :)

The garlic bread was an extra.. Still not found a decent garlic bread in Thailand 5555

Last night...

My GF said her friend went to a place on the Darkside for Lasagna so we checked it out last night...

La Taverne, I believe it was the old Holland bakery or something like that...

Very nice inside, but we were only guests. Very nice staff and quick service. Totally different feel to the night before..

I had one of my favorites, Spaghetti Cabonara and GF ordered Lasagna again. She also ordered some Salmon salad dish, of course 5555

It was all delicious, though I did not have the salad. Will certainly be back :)

A shout out to a new place on Soi 9, Khao Noi, Craigs Bistro.

My GF noticed it had just opened and we went for a look. Very nice, staff were attentive and pleasant. The Chef / Owner (?) came to say hello and ask about our meals.
Both meals, Spaghetti Bolognese and Carbonara were excellent, great value and the photos do not do the size of them justice ! Certainly will be back 🙂

PS. Thought I had taken pic of bill, but clearly did not. Was about 450B including coke, water and Garlic Bread20240210_184846.jpg.165402dc8fdfdea3a82ff0cc3c43e68c.jpg

Have had good Panang-curry & Massaman-curry recently at Jolly's, the latter was B200 including a second rice, and they'll cook it hot/medium/mild as you request.  Worth going back again, if I've time, before heading back up-North !  🙂

Homemade Pasta with different choices for protein, around 250 baht.  They do other western and thai food but I've only tried the pasta.  It's basically a food cart inside a shack with some tables, so don't expect a fine dining experience or any kind of service.

Sorry a bit late to the party but try The Nest in Soi Diana. I thought the lasagne was very good there, albeit a year ago.
