Bite Me Bistro--Best New Place in Town

Breakfast, only 2 things, quality ingredients and a chef who can cook them. Easy really, but not in Pattaya lol.

Poached eggs that don't taste of vinegar

Poached eggs cooked properly, not raw or rock hard.

Scrambled egg that doesn't taste of cheap sausage fat

Scrambled eggs cooked in a small amount of butter, not ladles of cheap margarine.

Bacon that contains meat, rather than 70% fat.

A choice between smoked and unsmoked bacon, and preferably back bacon.

Sausage that are real and not rubber textured and a smoked flavour that masks the cheapness of it.

Bread that doesn't contain ten tonne of sugar.

Baked beans see above.

Orange juice that comes from an orange.

Decent coffee...to be fair there are quite a few places that do good coffee in Pattaya.

Been to Bake and Brew?

Extra staff just taken on. Just working out the finer details - like what to put on a breakfast menu :)

Thanks for letting me know.  Keep us updated.  I will be in the area the 1st week of August and am always looking for good breakfast places.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing!

I don't know if I'm in a small percentage but I don't eat eggs, so this counts me out of many many breakfast options. At home I eat mainly healthy fruit, cereal, muesli etc, but when on holiday I like to indulge. At The Loaf in Soi Lenkee I really like their potato pancakes with baked beans and bacon, to me it's unusual but very tasty.

I like to try different food, going by your photos you seem to take every day food options and make them really interesting with different combinations. Seeing this sort of thing on a breakfast menu would have me as a regular for sure in the mornings/afternoons, I know I'm going to love your evening menu.

Hey, BiteMeBistro and breakfast fans.

Maybe I am unrepresentative of typical breakfast enthusiasts, but I tend to favor the same breakfast most every morning .. I mix it up once in 4-5 mornings, but generally the same core breakfast.

If that is true of others, it could simplify your daily breakfast menu by a goodly bit .. to maybe a handful of core selections, plus some standard sides, plus a few du jour specials (made from the prior night's over runs).

Have you any experience with the typical customer's breakfast habits? .. an informal stream-of-consciousness  intercept survey of 30-50 of your customers might give you an idea of how diverse the breakfast offer needs to be to cover 80% of your customers.

Curious to see your breakfast menu .. will you fly the draft here for us to see?

There is a free site called "survey monkey"

You could link here and get a pretty accurate survey of what folks wanted ....

Eating breakfast out is often different than eating it at home.

That's probably a good idea to do daily specials as on the regular menu.

This place is targeting expats more than tourists and expats with kitchens aren't going to go out for a bowl of cereal or a typical fried egg meal.

They're going to do what they're going to do but here is what I think might work the best.

Small menu.

1/2 standard western breakfast meals but done better and not the cheapest either

1/2 more original stuff you can't easily find elsewhere (samples given before)

Daily specials or a lazier option a weekly special

Perhaps one choice for ridiculously decadent breakfast set for 400 baht.

Bunch of great suggestions in there. Some of those need a very good chef to pull off consistently, we hope to get things going soon but only when we think we've got it right. But some great ideas!

Mention for today's special - Satay Chicken Green Pepper & Pineapple Skewers with a Sweetcorn Couscous - 230B special from 1pm

I can appreciate that about the chef skill considerations.

Some of my suggestions such as Central American papusas might be a thing more for a specialized Latin food restaurant.

I look forward to seeing the breakfast offerings. Even one or two different items that aren't seen elsewhere would probably draw me in.

How about a Spanish omelette with squirrel or kedgeree with infused Carp fillet flakes

Not seen either of these dishes on any menu in Patts

Spanish omelette?

I'd like to see tortilla espanol but don't really think of that for breakfast. But why not?

Squirrel? Does that taste like long pig?

I considered trying the place out tonight but post-flight weariness meant that by the time I walked down Soi Diana I really couldn't be bothered to go any further so I had some Thai in Robin's Nest.

I'll definitely give you a try over the coming days though.

I was just there and didn't know about the special :-( Didn't see board and waitress didn't tell me.

Only customer, walked through pouring rain - deserved free starter just for that ;-)

Had the fish. Well cooked and presented. Very tasty.

Didn't get on with the warm fish on top of cold broccoli, noodles etc though.

Will try something else next time.

Hi glad you enjoyed the barramundi, that particular dish is served on a pickled salad with noodles base. Sorry about the special board oversight, usually the girls are right there with both boards - the daily special and the weekly set menu

Oh, good question.

The ribs go on as a special occasionally (not on a fixed day) but they are always on the main menu :)
