Or win by a 1 goal margin and score at least 3 times. If the match finishes 3-2 to Arsenal they will qualify due to a superior goal difference.

Ancellotti gave an interview that he would like to manage Utd but not keen on mid-season assignments. Utd play directly in the knock-outs in Europa, that at least gives a chance 

 

 

City qualified as group champs, they can expect an easier draw now.

Arsenal & Chelsea made it through with convincing wins. Nearly all the major European teams have made through to the knock-out phase of the comp. Barcelona, Bayern & Real still look the top dogs & one of them to be likely winner again.

Looks like Chelsea & Arsenal will again exit the competition at an early stage.  Despite the massive cash injection our premier league is not very strong and will always struggle against the top European squads.

 

Lets hope Liverpool, United or Spurs will have a decent run in the Europa league to maintain our coefficient and ensure 4 teams reamin in the Champions league.

I see the premier league are planning to offer its teams financial incentives to take the Europa league seriously as they are in danger of losing a champions league spot due to a reducing coefficient.  There is talk of a £10m kitty which is small fry considering the the billions available from the new domestic tv deal.

Good. The sooner it goes the better. Arsenal have spent a decade getting rewarded for failure. Utd are starting to think the same and see 4th as a target for success

Arsene-al played well,  were brave.  Had tons of good ops as Barca defense is porous but didn't have the quality to finish them.  Finally wore down at the end.  They should just concede the return tie right now, although a trip to Barcelona in March is probably more pleasant than London.  

 

Juve v BM was a fun game.  Tons of intensity.  Soccer at its best.   Bayern will murder them on the return leg.

They were themselves ripped apart on the 1st Barca counter attack goal, 4-5 touches to the goal in all.

 

City playing tonight in Kiev, the difference in levels of motivation between the coach & the players should be pretty palpable.
