My little Greek mate sold out to the Chinese!  

 

And trying to save money by keeping the fryers on low! 

 

Flake soggy and oily!  $ 5.50

 

Minimum chips @ $3.50

 

Potato cakes 2 X $1

 

Piss poor efforts and will not be going back!

Have never been jollies! Apart from frydays the only places I can remember eating f&c is Greg's when he was at drinking St and the Queen Vic.

I avoided them for about 2 years because of what they were serving me as Cod.

 

For the Large Norwegian they are charging UK rate (6 quid) and I hope for something to match the price.

 

Whilst I'm not really a fan of their wedges, I'm pleased to say that the last twice the Cod had been tip top.

Same same I used to visit JF most weeks when I was in Patts

Was great when Ian owned the JF

Then my last 2 visits the cod I ordered was absolute pants

Not been for over 2 years

Will go in the next couple of days to check the cod out

I had the medium cod and chips 219 baht from the jolly friar, 2 days ago.

Nice size plenty for me (200g) but the batter to thick and the cod was under cooked.

Going by the reports from others I must have been unlucky, but I won't be going back.

So the same day I was there.

 

I think you can see from my photos in post 178 above that you were indeed just unlucky - the batter couldn't have been any thinner and the fish was certainly properly cooked.

That's not counting the one Dr.Rapscallion was served in front of me, which is what prompted my return.

 

I should also say that there appeared to be all (relatively) new happy staff now - misery guts has gone.   :GoldenSmile1:

You're wrong, the Hooters version of FishnChips is a cod fillet, chips are curly fries.

 

It was good, and the grilled Mahi better.
