Rock the Sausage (2nd Rd & Soi Diamond)

Rock the Sausage (great name!) is a relatively new establishment on 2nd Road near the intersection of Soi Diamond that is devoted to German-style fast-food sausages.

It's clean and well-lit, but a rather small place with only counter dining and minimalist stools for seating.

I loved the bratwurst with sauerkraut on a roll for 119 baht, but in the future, I'll probably be doing take away.

The sausages are served with yummy mustard, ketchup and mayo that they say is homemade.

They also have curry wurst on the menu and that's a particular fast-food favorite of mine. I'll try it next time.

If you have a hankering for German-style sausages while in the vicinity of Walking Street, then Rock the Sausage is the place to go.

Eh ... Wasn't this place was called ...

No, that place was much farther north on 2nd Road, past Soi 6 if I recall.  I never ate there.

Had the curry wurst and large fries takeaway earlier today, 149 baht.

It was okay, nice chips but next time I will go for the "bratwurst with sauerkraut on a roll for 119 baht" looks much better value.

The high stool type chairs I found uncomfortable even just waiting for my order, the staff are sweet and still a little nervous.

In the beginning was the word and the word was "In" :ThumbUp6:

I passed by there several times and was intrigued but never tried it.

I love sausages and hot dogs, so next time if it's still there worth a try.

Hope I can remember to give this place a visit when I'm next in town.

Looks like a good alternative to the late night kebab when out go-going and drinking around Soi Diamond!

I hope I haven't become obsessed with sausages, but I did have another good German-style sausage meal at the Brauhaus Restaurant on 2nd Road near the corner of Soi 7.

Rather than start a new thread for the sake of one quick meal, I'll include it here.

I had the daily special (frankfurter with potato salad) for 155 baht. Both the sausage and potato salad were very tasty, no complaints at all.

It's a full-service German restaurant that also serves a variety of Western and Thai dishes. Prices are modest and the restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating.

Bottom line: I'll be back to try more of the German dishes on the menu.

Had a stop in yesterday and had the regular bratwurst. It came on what is basically a hamburger bun so there was much more bun than brat. The brat itself was ok. Personally i will hitting Denmark Burger for my brat fix, even though they don't serve sourkraut i can live with it. Overall i think it is a much better brat and value

I have eaten there a few times... it is a 24x7 place, so for late night snacks it can't be beat... good price, good quality food in my opinion - but then again, I am no sausage specialist... if it were located on Walking Street or Bukhao it would probably do amazing business... the times I was in there - not too late at night, there were no other customers... and FOR SURE if I owned the place, I would have smokeN HOT ladyboys struttN their funky stuff, staffN it... and have short time rooms and blow job booths upstairs...

Retired in Pattaya, Thailand - arrived April 1, 2014... Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh... LiveN my dream!

  • 2 months later...

i'm still sulking as the only place in the world that served me chips in a stapled shut container has switched to a more conventional format

Ate the currywurst with fries couple times at january-february,

first time I ordered via door2door and second time I took takeaway.

First time it was really good, but second it had bit too much of that currysauce for my taste.

Those sandwiches looked good, but did'nt have time to try them.

Maybe next time I'm in Patts

As always, loving your helpful foodie threads, EP!  A brat on a bun sounds freakin' great!

That said, looking at the menu, I couldn't help but find this amusing:

 - Brat - 99 baht

 - Fries (small) - 39 baht

 - Soda - 30 baht

Total - 168 baht

Order them as a combo, and you get the special price of 169 baht!

the 39 baht small fries did not last long.

i think its 49 and deffo 69 for the larger fries.

i think other prices stayed about the same

I have a great idea for a promo….show the girls your sausage and get a free one.

Price discussions are killing my mood and my illusions.
