Willie Thorne reckoned he forced the pink to get position on the black , that he didn't need anyway .   

 

Either way , if Ronnie loses this match that miss will haunt him . 

 

Has to try to forget it and start again in the final session .

Selby had not made any centuries and yet he is winning 15-12, his safety is winning him frames to frames . Ronnie made three centuries .

Glad ronnie took 2 frames but right after selbys first century and 16-14 now.. Selby gonna take i hqve feeling but still want to see that old rocket coming back

Mark Selby won the world championship for the first time beating Ronnie O'Sullivan 17-14 . Won fair and square, Ronnie lost his nerve after leading 10-5 .

Ronnie was gracious as ever in defeat , and said he'll be back .

Yeah he was, The last frame winner was a gritting performance, a worthy champion showcase .

Selby played his game and did not let Ronnie bully him, not many have done that in the last 5 years,one great final to watch :-)

Totally deserved the win

 

I like the way Selby slowed the game down every time Ronnie made a mistake and let him ponder on it

 

Then when he was clear in a frame he speeded up again and performed some exhibition shots

 

I see Ronnie around as he lives very local - really nice, friendly guy - anything else about him I blame the parents.....

Ronnie would be better if he played a bit slower. He is always very quick for shooting. Selby plays not only with his magical hands but also with his brain. He is in shape and mentally stronger now.
