If you stay in the building closest to the back entrance, though, the separate reception there takes care of ID checks and such. So, sadly, I don't think this trick would work if you stay in the building where it actually makes sense to use that entrance normally...

Good, you should also send the hotel an email. And tell them the reason for cancel. If they see that they loose guests, they may drop the joiner fee(?)

LK empress have both 500 thb joiner fee and 20yo rule but easy to avoid as long as you dont use the lifts near reception. there are lifts near the restaurant and lifts near family mart where you can avoid this. problem solved.

I stayed at The Bayview during July.  I booked for 2.  They said one "guest" was ok as I had booked for 2, but said they would charge extra for more but I did not inquire as to additional cost.

Oh crap I was just literally in process of booking 28 nights in Opey de Place online when I just saw this thread... 500bt for an extra girl there?  can anyone verify that recently.. I am arriving in December ( 14th to Jan 11th  ) and threesomes are a big thing with me... and to be honest so many hotels are now full I was lucky to find space in opey ( see my post on full hotels for December ) .. is this for overnight only or even if I take girls to visit in daytime (short time) etc?

 

Anyone shed any light on Opey up to date?  All the other places I have tried are full.. where else does anyone recommend near LK Metro without this extra fee?

good info, I would always check the policy before booking. First Pattaya trip years ago booked into the Penthouse in boystown (didn't know much then). was surprised there were any restrictions but the policy was up to two girls no joiner fee, and a fee for third one. However, if they were hotel employees you could take as many as you desired, this allowed a few jacuzzi  parties I will never forget . Galaxy on top of heaven above also only ask for joiner fee when there are more than 2 joiners.

update on Opey De Place based on email received 13/10/2014 it seems they have lowered the fee for the second girl to 300bt... so that's some progress although still a poor policy
