How do you like your steak cooked?

Recommended Posts

How do you like your steak cooked? Rare, well done, or somewhere in between?

I remember reading somewhere that for some people, when they are very young, they prefer a well cooked steak with no redness, but as they get older, they tend to prefer it a bit more red on the inside.

It's kind of true for me. When I was young all my meat had to be well done with no hint of red. Now as I am older, while I still do not like rare meat, I can tolerate some pink inside the meat. I might make exception for the famous kobe beef.

But I usually order medium well for steaks. Hamburgers always well done (some non fast food places actually cook your burger to your liking).

Not really keen on Red Meat and probably eat it Once a Year if that, and given the choice would opt for it REALLY well done

Medium rare for me in your pic guide, but alas not everyone holds copies of the said guide.

My Mother is old school Irish and as such all meat has to be incinerated otherwise you will die from food poisoning.

There is no proper way to cook a steak except the way you like it.

"Well medium blue" for me, with chips.

Depends where you get it really.

In France, "well done" still has blood running from it.

From the time i was young i always preferred rare to medium-rare depending on quality of the meat

Seared on the outside and if the middle isnt still bloody, then you have ruined it

If I am abroad (no matter where I am) I always go for well done.

In Pattaya there are loads of food I avoid as the last thing I want in town to get a very upset stomach.

Medium for me. I also make my own steaks at home with a cast iron pan broil after searing both sides.

Med rare. Anything more cooked it's a waste of good steak IMO .

Make sure The Grill / pan is super super hot before cooking. The " crust / sear " is the flavorful part

its BETTER to be PISSED OFF then PISSED ON!!!..
