Naklua Bars

had my very first Pattaya-ST from Eor's Bar actually, four years back... don't ask me why.

Anton's food is good, yea. I usually get one day of craving for a Schnitzel and his is good!

I usually find a gem or two at VIP bar complex but this time round it was so damn quiet that I actually didn't sit down there...

A nice spot to hang out for a coupls drinks is Jack bar. Good seats, a friendly mamasan and hassle-free ladies. No stunners and rather a bit older but I like it for a pit-stop before hunting time if I'm this side of town.

Fellow BM's only 6 days to touchdown in Patts! I will be going to Naklua for a few beerski's during my 2 month stay so if any of you BM's are up for a barcrawl let me know! Thanks to everyone who has posted in this thread and for all the info which is greatly appreciated!

 

Hopefully i will be posting a pub-crawl review of the area with pics!

There are truly excellent bars in Naklua but it takes multiple visits by YOU to determine if they are good for YOU....the ones I like may not be the ones you would recommend for me...............

My favourite Naklua bar is the Barracuda

The owners wife once helped me out big style

I arrived at Bangkok airport with no cash went to the ATM and my card had been stopped by the bank

I had to get a taxi to Pattaya with no money got the driver to go straight to the Barracuda the owner Tony was back in England

But his wife gave me 5000Bht from the till to pay for the taxi and have money for my first night.

 

Agree that Tony and Sun are wonderful people and run a first class operation. It does amaze me that you travel without any cash in reserve....unless you had an unfortunate theft?? Always carry a couple of "Spare" large bills for any emergency.

Interesting you say that about Barracuda Bar. I walked past there several times over the last few weeks as I like to eat at a restaurant nearby. I fully intended to have a drink in there as several girls on their website looked pretty hot.

 

The girls that were actually there were nothing like the ones on their site and I saw nothing that made me want to go inside. I appreciate that girls move bars all the time so keeping a site up to date is hard work however it is part of their job and is just deceiving the customers. A bit disappointing really.

 

Made a stop at Barracuda last night....live music, party time for a couple of birthdays and a packed house. Yes, there are new girls and many have moved on.....same same at most bars throughout town......even if "your" girl is working there, she may also be out on a date for the night or even week plus...therefore not there. Good choices are everywhere...just move around a bit yourself and maybe you will find the lost one................

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Pit Bull Bar, home of the Pit Bull Motorcycle Club Pattaya. Tons of beautiful girls and bar space, with two pool tables now to boot!

I stayed in the Hotel Romeo palace last oct, it was a German run establishment with friendly staff and management.

Myself and the lads spent our 18 days drinking at the Geordie bar just off Dolphin island,and rarely ventured any further than that, but at 45bt from 3-7 why would I?, after 7 it went up to 65bt, still cheap as chips and some cracking looking birds in the cluster of bars it was in.

I ended up staying with the same girl for the duration of my holiday(yeah I know) newbie syndrome, it was my first trip tho.

I use to go to a place at the end or at a y in soi 12, can't remember the name and it was great, had girls day and night and they were good to go on site. Went back there recently and it looks like some open air bar or rest. now so did not stop in, bur really liked it in the old days.

The 5k baht was lost on the flight or in Dubai airport too many beers between Glasgow and Bangkok.

The parties are fantastic this is one I shot in October last year.

I always have a few beers in the Barracuda, when in Pattaya. I've had some memorable nights there. The Drum 'n Monkey ain't bad either.

I live in Naklua, and like to head to Leo Blues Bar. Great band playing most nights although I'd say I generally spend more time on Soi Buckhaow.

Barracuda bar by a street.Last few times been up that area been really quite. Barrucada bar allways has a good selection og t/gs but else where really poor the cow sheds across the road are allways dead these days.

2nd best is EORS owned by Ian 50 baht beers as well till 8pm. Large Leo's for that as well.

 

Barracuda 1 & 2 are now separately owned. Tony and Sun separated. Tony as # 1 in Naklua Rd and Sun has # 2 in Soi 18.

 

Phil may coma across like a nice bloke in Ryan's but to me he is a dead pan. New Ozzie partner coming in start of May is a good bloke though.

 

There is still a lot of Germans around but now there is just as many expats from all over the place. Plenty of Ozzie's, Poms Etc.

May be in november at my next trip to Patts we can meet,and if you want,

to chill out,have good foot and also all other things walk well done over there.

can you reconfirm this recommendation as well???.

i've been visiting Pattaya for many years but I don't really know Naklua's bar scene.

 

In just over 5 weeks time I will be flying to Thailand. And spending most of my 3 week holiday in Pattaya. And during that time I am planning on visiting Naklua's bars to see what they are like.

She said she was looking for a Sauna in that area that a friend recommended and said there were 2 BJ Bars in Soi 13/2 Naklua.

 

Anyone know about that area specifically?

It's quite a trek up from the Pattaya round about but now I am really curious about this and will need to check it out.

Anyone want to do any groundwork before I get there?

I also stayed there recently, for several nights, and enjoyed meeting ever-friendly Phil and the delightful Annie. The girls were a very-friendly bunch, the room cleaned daily, and big & well-equipped, if slightly-noisy due to the main-road traffic, I thought it excellent-value at 500B/night.

 

In fact I liked Ryans-Bar so much that, after a few days in Jomtien (Siamcats for the smallest GH-room ever), I came back to Ryansbar & Naklua again !

 

Phil had recommended, and I do too, the excellent German/Continental-food at Anton's, opposite soi-18. Their evening-buffet (230 a person) is reduced (with slightly-limited offering) to 130B after 9.30. Excellent-value for those of us who really enjoy German food !

I'm sure she was referring to the "Naklua Sauna", a quite established German-run (but used by various nationalities) hotel and sauna/massage business. It's Soi 13/2 in Naklua, i.e. from the roundabout about 2km up the road on the right hand side. Look here http://www.naklua-sauna.com/2.html.

Don't know about BJ bars in that area but imagine she might have it right with them popping up here and there for a short period of time now and then...
