I use PT Taxi service. 1100 baht forward journey / 1000 baht return. Excellent email communication with WhatsApp contact if required. New Mazda cars with tinted back windows. Carries your bag to the car, always polite, asks how you want the air con etc. Always found to be very reliable.

Ok just booked my transport to and from Pattaya (directly from the airport and vice versa) using Nam’s Taxi Service...a smooth, swift and painless process. Her assistant Chanya replied to my emails promptly which is always nice. 3weeks, 2 days and counting :D:D:D

For a cover is nice but the cover is not the book.

U can find taxis at 1000 baths. But me i prefer go To BTS Ekkamai and i take bus direct To Pattaya for 108 baths. Perfect for me...

I was thinking about doing this too. But after a 16hr flight with a connection, could be a bit of a ball ache. Do you know if that bus has aircon and how long it takes? And do you know the best way to get from Pattaya bus station to LK Metro? I've never been to Pattaya bus station before.

The buses are air conditioned and have plenty of leg space. It take about 1.5 - 2 hours. When you get there you have many options... baht bus, grab, taxi, etc..   There are more details in the travel section. With all the waiting and connection it will probably take you an hour longer than by taxi. It will also cost you 800-1000 baht more.. Is that worth an hour of your time? That is entirely up to you.

i too used Nam's taxi on my recent (End of june) trip to Pattaya and they provided wonderfully professional service.  Was there on time to pick up as well as to drop-off on the return journey.  Fabtastic at picking up cues from the customer.  One of the legs i was in a chatty mood and the driver was engaging but as soon as she sensed i wanted to be left alone, she was quiet as a mouse.   Bit pricey relatively but worth it.

I recommend angietaxpattaya.com, she is very reliable, think about standard 1200 from bkk to hotel.  was recommended from another bm here and I have used ever since.

Why not hitch a ride. FFS your on holiday, Nam's service is only 1200 baht and the nice lady driver will meet you at the airport and escort you to the car park and you can have a nice relaxing drive direct to your hotel in Pattaya.

Economise somewhere else, but not after a long flight wandering all over the place getting buses and messing about for hours.

$800 baht just to get to sukhumvit from the airport , crazy

Seriously? I think I paid 300 or so back in may in a metered taxi...I felt sorry for the driver as she was a nice elderly lady with a 'Hello Kitty' fixation. There were serious traffic jams and she had to drive me into the thick of it (which took an hour+) and then after dropping me off drive herself back out again so I tipped her extra.

I think the driver the hotel organised for me to get back to the airport cost around 500 and they usually charge more than metered taxi's.

For a cover is nice but the cover is not the book.

You got ripped off. It is 300-400 by meter plus tolls.

Not very practical for the taxi drivers, as it is not only Americans who visit, so should they exchange Euro's, Pounds, AUD, Krona, Rupies etc. in taxis ? It starts to get a bit complicated when you think of the rest of the world's currencies as well.

At the Airport, Superrich exchange booth, next to the train entrance (on the left hand side of the ticket office as you are looking at the entrance to the trains).

Exchange prices at Superrich booth at the Airport at this very moment....

You should not be losing, if anything gaining a bit, if using Superrich at the airport.

As to taxis, I have used Nam a few times recently and I am very happy with Nam's service.

best thing to do , is when your going back home take 5 or 10,000baht back with you all ready for the next trip and no running around , you can even pay for Loom if you haven't done so online

that's what i do  .... plus have 10 to 20,000baht in thai bank acc so can wait and see if $ goes up

To each their own. After such a long flight I want to take an suv where I can sleep on the way to Pattaya or some kind of taxi where I can get a bj during the ride lol. I don't think the latter exists so the former will have to suffice.

A comfortable ride and and a BJ does exist. A bit costly, but if you have the $'s you can book the Devils Den VIP Taxi.

Thank you, seeing how this is probably a once in a lifetime trip for me I think it will be worth it. I'll look into it more!
