Cutter, very 1st time I stayed at the areca my balcony faced a car park, Never again. I'm sure that's the rooms at the prices you mentioned unless I'm wrong.

I like D hotel near soi New Plaza just off Soi Buakao. Very nice and quiet rooms at 1,200 baht nightly or 7,000 a week. The hotel looks very new. No pool. King sized bed. Room service till 5pm.

The D hotel does have a pool, it's on the top floor.
