I took the family to Cafe Uno in Soi Kao Noi (Dark side) for the Sunday Roast dinner yesterday.

 

First impressions were very very good - it looks NICE. I guess I was expecting something a little run down but far from it. From the outside it looks great and inside too. Very much a "Bistro" feel to it. Clean, smart and tastefully done inside. Even the napkins were done well

 

I had heard lots of good reports about the place food-wise and the Sunday Roast didn't disappoint.

 

I can't comment on the rest of the menu but as I say I have heard it is very good.

 

Sunday Roast is fixed price - 320 baht for 2 courses. Main roast + pudding. The main course is meat of the day, beef, pork or lamb + there is always a chicken option. Yesterday it was beef so we all had that with apple pie and custard to follow. We saw a few people have the chicken option and was an half chicken and again huge portions.

 

Yesterdays mean was beef, yorkshire pudding, rosemary roast spuds (perfect - crispy outside and fluffy inside with no hint or greasiness), cauliflower, broccoli and peas. There was a gravy boat and white sauce boat to accompany with mustard and horseradish included in condiments.

 

The owner is going to join the forum and add some pics and put up the entire menu (I hope). Hopefully he can add a map too.

 

It is run by a young English guy who I think acts as head chef too.

 

If you are in the area its well worth a visit.

 

Its even well worth a "trip" as despite the proliferation of places in Pattaya where you can eat, few offer this kid of surrounding or quality of food.

If you are ever on the East side of the Sukhumvit and fancy a bite to eat, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner, we hope you will give us a try.

 

We are proud of what we serve and satisfaction is our main priority. Most of our dishes are homemade (in-house) from 100% homemade burgers/meatballs, freshly made pizza, to a nice spicy Indian curry and if you have any particular requirements we will do our utmost to serve.

 

Monday-Saturday 10am - 10pm (closed Tuesday)

Sunday 10am - 6pm

 

We do have a delivery service but only available on the East side of town at the moment.

 

The menu is our base food but we will introduce weekly specials, even on request.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

By the way, the Sunday Lunch changes weekly, Beef, Pork and Lamb and is 290bht, the Lamb though is 320bht, which includes a desert choice of either Apple or Rhubard pies or crumble with custard or ice cream. As stated above you can also have the roast Chicken option which is available every week.

The gravy was dark and very tasty. The white sauce was excellent.

 

Good thing about both was they came in boats - not already dumped on so you could add as little or as much as required.

 

Refill were asked for and given.

I had the Large Breakie @ Uno last week, top notch feed, highly recommend for those straying over to the Darkside...

 

Not the cheapest breakfast in Pattaya but right up there with Ace Cafe as my two favorite places to eat a proper Breakie, good value for money IMO.

 

Will be back for another feed soon.

I wasn't attempting to be insulting. I love it when businesses promote the shit out of themselves on the forum. It does make me want to go there.
