Not trying to slag Big Sam off, he seems a likeable down to earth manager but can someone explain to me how the committee selected him? I am  assuming they asked questions such as what credentials he has to manage England on the international stage without ever having been successful at the  top level either in England or abroad?

International players need cajoling and ego massage, not forensic analysis Benitez style. England has to learn to play as a team and not dysfunctional individuals. I think even San Marino could have beaten us in France

No confirmation of England appointment and strong reports that Bruce has left Hull.

What's going on?

Allardyce to England, Bruce to Sunderland.

Rumours that the FA may name Steve Bruce as Big Sam's assistant. Plumbers are already on the way to St George's Park to reinforce the bogs.

Sam Allardyce has been appointed new England manager on an initial two-year deal.

I don’t agree. Allardyce has consistently managed to get average players to perform beyond their expected capabilities using innovative techniques combined with sheer passion. IMO, exactly what England need at present.

The job should have gone to Harry Red Nob , the FA didn't trust him because of his money dealings in the past and maybe the present.

Andy Carroll will be chuffed, Sam "Kick it up field to the big man" Allardyce got the job.

Honestly, who has what it takes to turn England into world beaters? Its not the fact English players are bad its the fact other nations are much better.

So why not Sam? at least we will have a laugh along the way.

Harry's past it now. Big Sam has done well with the limited players he has always had. I think he will do well, hopefully he'll have the balls to make the tough decisions and not try and play it safe like Roy did
