I think it is a case of we will have to score more than them

Hands up if you knew that the guy in the blue shirt is Lilly Allen's dad ....

It's all part of the master plan - we don't want to peak too early

I thought England's usual plan was to peak in 'the next tournament'?

Thrn the next, and the next, and the next.........

Always 'the next'

We peaked to early in 96 when we demolished the Dutch

The only one that impressed me was 'Walker' but the various England Team Shapes didn't and Imo, Portugal's accurate passing and control skills were individually far much better and creative than those of the English players who just seemed to want to pass back or sideways all the time.

It was frustrating watching an English International Match - Yet again.

Starting XI for first game? Hart-Walker, Cahill, Smalling, Rose-Wilshere, Dier, Ali-Rooney-Kane-Vardy.

Lallana, Barkley & Sturridge at the ready if we need a goal. Milner if we need a grafter to help shut down space.

Last night was horrible viewing...but would rather get this sort of performances out the way in the dress rehearsals...

Best England game I've ever been too...England fans singing "It's coming home" in full voice around the old Wembley was immense

The Scotland game a few days earlier was a standout too.

5-1 under Sven in Germany another high...but not a game I was at

At least England always seem to qualify for 'the next'. How about Wales qualifying record for EC's and WC's ?

On the bigger picture, No, I don't expect England to do well. Most players are quite frankly too burned out after a season in the premier league to do well in EC's or WC's. It's a point that Fabio Capello made from his time in charge. I don't see that changing unless they introduce a winter break or change the structure of the EPL.

Thought England Match with Portugal very poor . If played like that in the Euro 2016 , they will not have a hope . My selection down below . I put Rooney and Rashford up front with Wilshere , Sterling , Barkley in the midfield ... You can choose the team like mine by using this link .. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36413882

A more positive lineup my mine...

Lets hope Vardy commits to stay or has moved on to Arsenal in the next couple of days...need him fully focused on the 3 lions from next week

Wales starting in a 5-3-1-1 formation in today's friendly in Sweden.

Probably a good indication for the Euros.

Payet of West Ham and France will be the most wanted man in Europe after his performance and a matchwinner.

West Ham big, big fight to keep him...another brilliant show from a very classy player...will be a coup & a strong sign of intent if they can hold on him to him for their debut season in the Olympic stadium.

If the speculation is true...Hodgson is really going for it tomorrow night...Kane, Rooney, Ali, Sterling...and possibly Lallana...guess he's looking to exploit their lack of pace at the back.

It's good to see him looking so fit for a change. It's also good to see that the official Welsh supporters club have arrived.

Are you sure it's the supporters, and not the WAGs.

Our sheep befriending colleague above reminded me of one of my favourite Viz adverts though.

Can just see Engerland do the now usual fail dismally under Woys command.  How Woy is still in charge is beyond me after the World Cup debacle.  For a start he has picked sick note Wilshere for the squad.  Since the last time he has played 90 minutes for the Gooners, Ronaldo has scored something like 117 goals which says it all.

Yes, I'm sure.

The WAG's are there but I think in the valleys they are referred to as HAB's.
