Thai's don't like Russians?

I cannot think of anyone who likes the Russians, and then again, I cannot think of any nationality that the Thai's like either.

Yes.  In the touristy areas in the big cities there is a Love-Hate Relationship.

Outside the busy areas, most Thai families I have come across are quite friendly

and tolerant of foreigners.  I find them more friendly, respectful, and neighborly

than most families near where I grew up in the USA.

I can't speak for the views of all Thai people of course. I did have a nice Thai couple from Bangkok tell me they didn't like Russians because they felt that Russians looked down on them.

I'll tell you one thing, ALL hockey loving Canadians despise the Russian Hockey teams!!!!  It started with the 1972 games!!!!!!

I think this is an arrogant point of view. The Thais are very welcoming to all nationalities and groups, though there are a few who don't like any kinds of foreigners. To single Russians out in my opinion is very short-sighted.

Funny but sometimes true... I remember about 2 years ago in a restaurant... a gang of about 10 russians where behaving so badly, that a russian couple in the same restaurant tried to slow them down... the story ended with the gang throwing empty bottles of vodka at them...

But then this also shows... not all russians are the same... just as everywhere...
