Food Quality and Bacon and Eggs brekkie

smartbuy

Recommended Posts

I used to like the Roo Bar for B&E brekie for 100bt , done perfectly last year.

Yesterday, I would call the bacon not quite right maybe a composite. I'll give em another try before

they loose me for good.

I think I tried the Captains or something in Soi Honey for 100 odd bt , but the bacon was more like 4mm slabs of

bacon that failed to deliver that sizzle flavor.coffee for 40bt extra means I will not be back for brekkie.

If you like lashings of fried potato, generous quantity, then that may be a good choice.

Where else for brekkie?

PS if you are not aware, the price of Bacon and Eggs is officially a problem for Thai .gov, as they have gone up faster and higher that what the .gov reckons is reasonable. Good goverance for the people. Compare that with .au where bananas are $19 per kilo, and the .au gov sees nothing much wrong or do anything about it.

When in pattaya i always take my girlfriend to the lek hotel buffet, its good value & plenty of choice, for thai & myself, & it also happens to be just around the corner from were she lives, it maybe not the place for a bacon lover though """" [ cheap streaky ] but well worth a try """.

I've had breakfast at over 10 establishments. So far I think the best breakfast is at Canterbury Tales. I'm not sure about the bacon though because I the eggs are my favorite part. I ate once at the Queen Vic on Soi 6, I remember it being good but it was over a year ago and only once.

The bacon always seems a little funny in Pattaya...not sure why.

My fav place for a breakfast would have to be the big breakfast plate at Billabong in LK Metro.

It's another Aussie place so give it a try.

By far the best breakfast to be had in Pattaya is at the Golf Club on LK Metro. The Wentworth is highly recommended - quality cooking and great coffee for 140 baht all-in. Plus you get to check out the Devil's Den girls hanging out next door.

<Rant mode on>

Tried Billabong. Good and hot, 8+ perhaps - one egg done perfectly, comes with real bread, not supermarket crap . Tried their seafood mix for dinner. Smell coming out the kitchen was heavenly. I found out why - generous splash of chillies - just not my cup of tea, and needed a few beers to put out the fire while watch DD traffic.

Worked out the Irish place next door has the loudest music, and lots of 'we are the champions' till small hours.

Murphys Law in LK has an honourable mention - cheap rooms and a menu where they bike the stuff in and present. Great idea - no need to wander. It looked good, so did stag,

so I will go back to find out which one does not have rock hard mattresses.

In Soi Bukahaw , next to the post office, was an Indian place - Banana Roti 50 bt cooked on the spot. Yummy! Limited menu, but clean and good vibe this is a real must come back to. This is a find . Pineapple stand 15bt a kilo opposite after 6pm before they ship out to street vendors.

Wandering down soi honey and a right into 2nd Road ICE INN has the best coffee grinder and coffee machine in whole of pattata perhaps (right out of gourmet coffee magazine)). Yet to test their skills, but it looks tops. Too bad I did not pack my city blend.

Back I go to green Apple towards Jointeim - The 24 hour foodworks has everything. Wow, Patts has everything.

I second that - always had a good brekkie at the Ritz and always done the way i like. 18 coins gets an honourable mention from me too.

Tried La Katai, Soi Lengkee, today after strong recomendations. I had the large breakfast for 149bt.

Excellent breakfast, 2 superb sausages, nice thick bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomato, beans, hash brown, 2 toast or bread n' butter, real ornage juice and tea or coffee...

The tea was weak as it wasn't a decent brand so i'll have a coffee next time, otherwise strongly recommended.

I`m not a big eater so I like the Foodland small american breakfast, really good value at 51 bahts before 9am and 63 afterwards. They do a bigger breakfast at 85 bahts and both their wholewheat toast and their coffee are good.
